Argh! I just missed you! Well, my trainer is there in the Crete truck. If you saw a Ford Explorer 'lost' back amongst the trucks, that was my mother and I heading back there to grab my junk out of the truck.

Two to five days hometime, then back out on the road. Can't wait to be in a real bed for the first time in a month.
so which is it? 2 or 5 days home? are they gonna pair you up with a different trainer for this next evolution-- the "super solo" part?

Yep I was there. I hide out in my sleeper with the curtains closed talking to myself so I didn't see a Ford Explorer driving around

Tonight I'm at the Pilot n Youngstown,OH. I deliver down the road at 4:00 am my time which blows. Then I have to pick up off a local dropyard and deliver down near Baltimore same day. My fleet manager has already set me up with multiple short trips to keep me near home and to get me there next week. I'm not really thrilled about the trips as I have to go right back across Pennsylvania tomorrow and down near Baltimore and then pick up another load and come right back across after just being there the past couple days. I-76, I-70 and down by Baltimore isn't exactly my favorite place to travel. 8) 8)

Jeeez...I feel so bad for ya.

NOT !   I've been sitting at the house, waiting for a load to get me out of town for a week. Truck was in shop for a week, so I have been sitting for two weeks. The only load they have come up with is a dedicated load up to Albany OR.
Only good thing about it is the fact that it is paying $1.78 +fsc on all the miles.

Looks like closer to five days. It all depended on the freight, where a load away would go for my trainer, and where a load back into the vicinity would come from.

We're trying to stay together for the super solo portion. I see pros and cons to not going with a different trainer. Pros are: we know each other, what to expect, can deal with each, and my trainer can get some extra miles to go with somewhat lower miles the first month to even things out, or even up his pay. Cons are that I might have to wait an extra day to get back on truck (or not. I don't know if there is another trainer available and close) and that having a different trainer might expose other weaknesses in my driving.

Me neither, but if I'm driving near there, it means I'm probably close to home time so I'll take it

Screw that !!!!!! :P :P If I have more than 1 stop on a load it's too much like work. I thought I would sneak through the 22 mile stretch on 695 between 70 and 95 before it got busy yesterday afternoon, WRONG!!! It took me an hour and a half to go that 22 miles. It wasn't so bad once I got on 95 and headed up to my delivery in Aberdeen. 8) 8)

Tonight I'm at the Pilot in Grayson,KY. Today was the worst day I've ever had dealing with 4 wheelers. The roads weren't great but they weren't that bad either coming across West Virginia. One idiot after another today, all day. They done wore me out today and I only put in 480 miles. I was totally planning on doing some laundry when I arrived at the pilot after fueling but guess what? no laundry room. Oh well tomorrow can only be better, I think ? 8) 8)

Dear Pilot,

Thanks for not caring about truck drivers needs anymore.

Your pal, T.K.

P.S. Maybe you could take some of those thousands and thousands of dollars you make off us each day at each location and buy some salt to put on the ground so I don't slip and fall walking towards the door and bust my head open like I almost did today. I can't spend money at your fine establishment if I'm in a coma :?

sad but true.

Pilot sucks.
I bitch about them but I'll still be going to them. Sometimes they are the only place to stop at form me, plus Marten has added most of their locations to our fuel list and dumped a bunch of TA's and Petro's. Today I would have stopped somewhere else but I had to fuel here anyways. 8) 8)

whenever i have a pilot on my refueling list, i call into my driver manager, tell him of a better location that's much more easy going in and out, and getting on my way without any trouble. he opens me up for fuel at the alternate location. 8) fark pilot and fark loves. the pilot in great falls, montana is great and the loves in roseburg, oregon isn't too bad. those are the only exceptions.

i'd been to the t/a in baltimore once and i hope to neverrrrrrrrrr everrrrrrrrrrrr go there again. that place pissed me off something furious. it pissed me off even more when i bought some hot dogs and the buns were pretty stale. i had one of those moments where i felt like jim carey's character in "me, myself, and irene" when he was at the grocery store, let the woman go ahead of him in line, and he finally lost it. i had to get out of there quick before some heads rolled. once i got rolling again, i felt much better. especially since it was almost midnight over there and i headed westbound. the ultimate destination was lewiston, idaho.
