Didn't mean to obscure your question. I just thought you wanted honest answers from truck drivers, present, past, and future. I didn't get that it was a open question for anyone to answer, weather or not they will become truck drivers.

Anybody can work for a trucking company. CEO's, secretaries, janitors, mechanics, and yes, even recruiters. But just because you worked for a company, doesn't make you a truck driver. Too me, you have to drive the truck.

But maybe I'm wrong.
Dont worry about it cluggy :P Your alright in my book

Don't know if any females have dared venture into this "vipers' nest." But here goes. I saw the other person get "butchered" simply due to his background. Now boys, be nice.

B.A. Psychology, University of Arizona
B.S. Accountancy, University of Missouri

Chose to drive after divorcing after 1/2 a lifetime. Changed marital status, career and location. Have no children, pets, boyfriends or room mates. So I'm foot loose and fancy free-able to travel to my heart's content. Lived in Misery due to his career and am happy to say that I've moved back to my beloved Colorado. Have lived in 12 states due to the fact that my father was a fighter pilot in the U.S.A.F. So I definitely know where I want to live. My heart is definitely here. Love the mountains, dry climate, 300+ days a year of sunshine and won't move again for some stupid career change [for ex].

Have driven three years, hauled trucks to begin with and am now back to freight. UGH!!! Prefer hauling trucks. My company quit hauling them and I was hired by the truck hauling company that took over from ours but they wanted me to move back east. I said, NO. Moved for my ex-husband's career to Misery and was Miserable. Love Colorado and am not leaving for a job. Living here takes precedence over higher income. I would make A TON MORE hauling trucks back east.

I've obviously made the choice that liking what I do is more important than money. I would make double back as an Accountant. I was tired of working with bitchy women. Although, now I say I'm working with horny men not sure I made an improvement. Just kidding guys-prefer males obviously.

I rarely if ever used tools prior to hauling trucks. I contended that's why I had three brothers and a father while growing up. After I got married I had a husband who utilized tools. Am proud to say that although, I was wealthy while married, I am content to be "relatively poor" now as a driver. Loving every minute of it-now I know what tools are and can use them. Not a princess anymore back to a frog in freight. Used to stay in motels and fly back after delivering trucks. Am gaining more confidence daily and will probably never go back into an office with bitchy women EVER AGAIN. This month is my third year as a driver and am starting to feel like a "real driver".
