Yeah, it's crazy. Pretty sad that trucking is in the top 5 for The Most Dangerous Professions. I wouldnt think it was that bad 20 years ago. Our Safety Director came over to our yard a couple of weeks ago, and we had a safety meeting. We talked about all the DOT regulations, and all the good safety stuff. One thing that he mentioned was, and if I remember hearing right, he said that in all vehicle accidents that happen in our county on a daily basis, 1 out of every 5 accidents, a commercial vehicle is involved.

I'd believe that with the way 4 wheelers drive anymore Jack. We had one the other day where a car ran off the road, hit the guardrail and the driver freaked out. He ended up yanking the wheel dead right to get off the guardrail and went flying back across the highway. Drilled another car in the drivers door and shoved them up under a semi's trailer that was in the far right lane minding his own business, causing the truck to jacknife.

The guy obviously wasn't driving with his head. Shouldn't have run off the road in the first place and secondly, he had already tore the side of his car up on the guardrail, might as well ride it out till you get to a low enough speed that you can ease away from it instead of jerking the steering wheel to the right to get away. Real bright driver.
