Today was his b-day but his party will not be till Sunday ( i was hoping that daddy would make it home by then) and he will be so excited! Anyway, thats all for now, I'll post more when I know more.
countryhorseman, it was great talking with you, good luck with your trainer!

Thanks TL, spoke with my trainer Saturday A.M. just after getting into town. Had a good conversation and sounds like he and I will get along just fine. Will update the blog later today.

Hope Hubby made it home without any troubles, he was very happy to be head'n home.

The copper load place in Norwich CT had a funny looking solution for drivers without long sleeve shirts.
They gave you "arm booties" to wear which were like long tube socks with the toes cut off.
After seeing how funny  they made a driver look, I NEVER forgot to pack a couple of old long sleeve flannel shirts in my bunk  !!!

well hubby left out with his trainer around 4:00 this evening. I was sad to see him go away for another week but this is what I'll have to get used to. He called around 10 or so and told me everything was going good. His trainer is really nice and they are getting along great. they are on their way to KY tonight to drop a load and then to SC tomorrow. I have a lot to get done this week while he is gone so it should go by quick.
To all of you out there on the road, stay safe.

Just thought I'd post a quick update here on my husband. We just took him to meet his trainer on the other side of Oklahoma City earlier today. He called tonight and had picked up their first load and it has several drops, the first of which up in Kansas. Final drop is in California, which he's excited about because he's never been that far west :)

All is well with him and his trainer. They are communicating well with no issues!

Hey all!

Sorry I have not updated anything since last week. Met up with my trainer monday a.m. and have been running ever since. In Joplin right now for the weekend. The week went fairly quick actually, and covered some miles. Will get back in here later and the blog for a good update.

Gonna go get a shower and some food in me now.

Spoke with MDII earlier today, sounded like he was enjoying it and liked his trainers truck. He will get to see some of those mountains I told him about during training.

Be back later, Louis

Thanks SK, plan to get over there tommorow and hang for awhile. Was checking out some of the rigs when we fueled at the Pilot before dropping the truck at the yard.

TMC, has me going from coast to coast, literally, my last run was San Diego, to Fontana, to Tampa to Jacksonville. I'll end up in Laredo in a couple of days which is almost to the third coast. I haven't had any slack periods that's for sure and that is the way I like it. Oh, I might have to sit at a shipper or consignee because of appoitment times, but I can catch up on my valuable sleep time. I am averaging well over 3,000 miles per week, which is meaningless because I am on percentage pay.

I took to heart what BND said about running at 55 mph to conserve fuel, while I'm not quite ready to run that slow I did slow down to 62 mph. I've been try to shift correctly for the CAT C15 ACERT engine. Actually, it makes my shifting so much better. Anyway, I have brought my fuel mileage up to 6.25, not officially though. I ran the numbers on my last tank full and it was 6.25. I'm getting more than a 1,000 miles with some left per tank full. I need to watch that video on the ACERT engine again if I can find it, or maybe when I go by DM.

More later.

do you have one of the newer trucks or one of the older trucks with the larger tanks? the truck i just turned in was a 2005 387 and i loved the large tanks. weight was never a problem with that truck.
