hey goldie have you asked any of your friends/ family if they would take care of the farrets for you while you are OTR?, or have you thought about leasing/ purchasing your own truck where you can have anything/ anyone ride with you ?

Unfortunately, no one wants any part of the ferrets
I considered buying my own truck but fuel prices SUCK now and I think TMC imposes similar rules on its owner/operators. At least as far as pets go. I COULD be wrong on that one though. If anyone knows different, let me know.

Well, my solution was to leave the girlfriend at home and she can take care of the ferrets.

good call terry, goldie I'm not sure about the pet policy and O/O. you could always run an internet add for the ferrets or try the local paper.

Any one help me locate some dedicated runs if any are avail in my neck of the woods?I know the 6 month rule but as it is I need a new FM so no time like now to try my luck.Plus I will be in a terminal next week.

Also how accurate are the MPG computers in the trucks?Mine says Im getting just under 8 mpg average and that seems crazy.

Yeah, but think of all the real world experience you are getting. You will be considered "an experienced trucker" in no time at all.

I don't know how to jump start your truck, I would assume you do it just like a 12 volt battery. Hopefully, some one who knows will come along soon. You might want to post this question in the maintenance section also.

no sweat, hook your cables up, and let your jumping vehicle run for a while. Just look for your two longest battery leads. the others are all tie together.

Aren't big trucks 24 volt? Can a 12 volt system charge a 24 volt system?

If it is correct, TMC is gonna LOVE you! And it will show on your next snapshot when your percentage goes up as a result. Good luck and sorry to hear about your bad-luck streak. Hang in there it will get better. If you make it thru the winter at TMC you will be rewarded with a VERY busy spring and summer and since you already went thru hell and back, your fleet manager will have a new respect for you and should take care of you when freight gets busy again.
