i would imagine this would only hurt the drivers that have a high percentage, or are with the company for a long time... plus the ones who bust their ass to be first in line at the shippers/recivers, and work their behinds off... i know i would be pissed if i was still with TMC, and this was true...
anywho, have a great one... BND |
The End is Nigh
Well TMC threader's, I will be parting ways with TMC as soon as I can get into a terminal. I will, of course, drop of the load that I have
My family, mostly my real old parents, need me in town daily. Just can't do that running flatbed freight. TMC has been a mostly good experience. To all you TMC wanna-be's, you can't do much better. The money is good, home time (for trucking) is good, the equipment is top shelf. Know flatbedding and trucking before you make a move, you may be disappointed. During some serious family and personal medical issues, TMC was very understanding. In one week when I only dropped one load and had to take the rest of the week off, they just tossed $500 in my paycheck; the old now non-existent "Quality Pay". When my father had strokes and operations, TMC shot me home ASAP, one time allowing me to bounce home empty over 250 miles. Sadly, not many companies would do that. No, they are not perfect, far from it. For the last two years. I have been a part of this thread. I probably won't post too much. When is see BS being posted, I will respond accordingly. Good luck to you all. |
now even the bif VON leaves he ship... you are definetly missed there, they loast a very valuable asset and i'm sure they know it too...
good luck on your new job, and keep in touch... cheers BND |
Von, even though we have never met, you will be missed. I have listened to your wisdom and taken advice. TMC lately is loosing alot of GOOD drivers. My trainer has been with the company for 7 years, and after talking with him daily, he is on his way out also..
On a better note, got my first snapshot, and went to 28%. Now if I could just get rid of this peice of junk truck, I would be a little happier. The speedo will go from 0-80 in about 2 seconds. Of course I'm doing that fast, but it has some MAJOR electrical issues.. Stability System will come on going down a dry road, cruise won't set, radio don't work, ect... Friday I was only a few miles from Indy and thought, here's the chance... But I got put on a certified load. So no terminals for me.. I don't know what else to do with the truck. I've talked to my FM about it, Team Leader, and safety.. So I guess I'll just runner till she blows.. |

You obviously have a 387. You can have my 379 "Judy", she uses no oil, runs smooth, pulls hard, and has kept me safe for a long time. Good luck. |
vonSeggern,
I had a very similar situation. My dad had a heartattack, and I was on my way to unload aprox 300 miles away in CT. My dispatcher, gave me the option or either heading home immediatly, or getting a return load back towards home, unload and drive to the hospital. Since my dad lives 600 miles away, I opted for a load, and in that case while on the phone, he read me the load board, and gave me the choice of what was closest. I do appreciate the actions very much. Its a hard situation to be in, Ill bet that they have had fleetmanagers say no, and drivers with trucks heading home  Goodluck, I know, even though I dont agree with all they are doing, my time was fun, I learned a lot from the company, and left with proper notice, etc I even exchanged trucks and trailers with another dedicated in the field, since his was so heavy. It was hard leaving the terminal. |

I truly need to thank you for all the valuable information you have posted to this thread for so long. It has really helped me in my future decisions. The information you posted is invaluable, and something only aquired from actual experience. It was all very appreciated by me. Do you ever have dreams of waiting in line for 5 hours at Tamko and then the loaders go on break? I am in Oklahoma City. Dropping off the last load then heading to Joplin. If anyone from this post is there when I am, they can get some real nice parting gifts: Idle Air thing, strap winder, and a bunk warmer just by saying, "Vonseggern? Er ist Sein reizvoller Mann!"
