Got the call today and report to Ripon on Monday for a little orientation on qualcomm and such, get my truck and get a dispatch on Tuesday eve!
Aartman has been bought by Ruan, no real surprise since they now own Kings County Truck Lines, MSM and a few other food grade carriers out here in Cali, It will remain Jim Aartman, we'll be a subsidiary of Ruan.

Hey Cyanide,
Just discovered this thread, and am blown away by the information you have taken the time to document. Thanks!!! I just skimmed all 12 pages, and have a question that I don't think has been addressed yet. (Sorry, if it has.) I'm seriously considering a career change to trucking, but one thing I'm really frightened of is packing on the pounds. Like a lot of folks, I have a tendency to put on weight rather quickly when I don't stay physically active. I've gotten pretty big in the past, and it took a lot of hard work to get back into decent shape. I noticed that you talked about working out regularly, and I was just wondering how you manage to do that, with all the miles you're logging...especially when you're in a different place every day? Do you have an in-truck exercise routine? Do you run? Thanks...and thanks again for this great thread!
