Tanker info for y'all...

Another week down and hopefully, many more ahead
...Sorry about the edit, but I had added up my total mileage wrong! Welcome aboard Joel! You can see from all of my posts where I (and Skywalker) generally run. I'll be looking for you out here . As you can see, Week 39-17 was rather slow but I still did pretty decent considering the time off I took. Yet another small advantage to being paid hourly when doing the short stuff and for load/unload delays. No complaints here from me! I have added a note in my stats to hopefully avoid any confusion from here on out... When I refer to hours, I'm talking about the total hours I have been paid for when either loading/unloading (including the first two hours that we are paid the flat rate amount for), time spent at a tank wash facility dropping/hooking tanks or having fittings washed, having maintenance performed on my truck or assigned tanker (in a shop or on the road), doing local work, layovers, and holidays. You will see from our pay package here at Superior Carriers (and at our sister company, Carry Transit) that if we aren't paid a flat-rate amount for non-driving work we're on the clock. Either way about it we're getting paid whether driving or sitting, and short of the wait period during layover status we give up no free time. Also, Baby Bullseye wanted me to say hello to everyone, as she's been keeping very busy lately (one way or another)  . Carry is working out very nicely for her to say the least. I know that a couple of weeks ago she turned in around 1,900 miles that grossed her $992. Not bad for running short trips and close to home all the time! Perhaps one of these days she'll gather all of her pay info and miles and share it with y'all so you can see just exactly how little she actually runs over there  :P. Y'all be safe and have fun ... Week 39-17 -Chicago, IL (driver unload with truck air) -Chicago, IL to Markham, IL (drop dirty tank, wash fittings, hook clean tank) -----Markham, IL to Millsdale, IL (drop clean tank) -----Millsdale, IL to Markham, IL (hook preloaded tank) -Markham, IL to Muskegon, MI (customer unload) -Muskegon, MI to Markham, IL (drop dirty tank, time off) Gross: $413.43 Miles: 431 Avg.: .959/mile Superior Carriers, 2007 Totals: Gross: $17,002.97 (.549/mile) Miles: 30,986 Hours: 321.25 (All hourly pay) Hazmat Loads: 7 Days Working: 89 Days Off: 30 *Totals calculated up to April 29, 2007* Superior Carriers Totals, from July 31, 2006 (Figures including $616.46 training pay, and $400.00 orientation pay) Gross: $38,737.67 (.539/mile) Miles: 71,847 Hours: 719.75 (All hourly pay. Just a tidbit of more useless info...
Found out the basic company turn over rates for 2007 (as of the end of April). If I can find out the individual breakdown of the causes I will. Carry Transit: 38% Company drivers, 40% O/O. Superior Carriers: 28% C.D., 33% O/O. Superior Bulk Logistics as a whole: 33% C.D., 36.5% O/O.

I was talking to one of the guys (driver) in Kankakee this morning and he said that he thinks that a lot of the present turnover is due to the older guys...even older than me  8) retiring and hanging it up for good. I'm in Cincinnati right now and didn't see anything on the bulletin board, but I'll be in Memphis sometime mid-day on Saturday, and I'll see if I can find it there. When I get to Memphis on Sat...I'll have 2022 miles and made about $1100.00  8) So hopefully they'll have something to keep me moving for the weekend. Something I can "via" 8)

Another fun, profitable week ...
Hey gang! Sorry that I don't have a ton of info to share this time around, but wanted to go ahead and put down what I have for last week. I'm still having a very good time here, even though next week's pay will be very low since I'm off until Monday (I estimate about $664 gross for around 950 miles or so). I unloaded in Charlotte Monday, reloaded there Tuesday, and unloaded yesterday morning in Largo, FL before returning home in the afternoon. And now I sit here catching this up while awaiting an answer from my son for his dinner decision. He can't make up his mind between seafood or bbq ! Either sound great to me  :P Anyway, here's all of my updated info. Y'all have a safe, great weekend ...Skywalker wrote:
