So does: Domino's Pizza, Papa John's(PJ Foodservice 8) ), Dunkn' Donuts, Tractor Supply Company.
Again, all good companies IF you live near one of thier DCs. Most of them run 2-3 day trips.

Thats funny.... I wonder why most of their trucks are freightliner FLD 120s? Guess they may have bought them out recently.

After you mentioned the FLD thing..I had to ask my brother (the mechanic in the family). PACCAR bought out one of the big auto parts dealers in 1996-97.I thought it was Autozone.... My brother told me I'm wrong. ops: ops: PACCAR bought out the following company's he says....Advance Auto Parts, Checker Auto Parts, Schuck's Auto Supply and Kragen Auto Parts, and used them to form----> PartsAmerica.com. ops: ops:

I hear ya skywalker! I have been thinking about trying to hook up with Superior out of Memphis if I ever start school! Right now I am still trying decide on a good school in the area. I started this thread to know what kinda first class jobs are out there for people like myself to pursue when they start their careers. I could care less about working for a coolie carrier. My dad would be furious if i did - he has been an O/O for 35 years and counting.

Ham...something your going to need to take into consideration....most of the "private fleets" will require you to be 25 or older, have 2 or more years experience, in their specific area (what they do). For instance..if you wanted to deliver gas for Exxon, you would need to be 28 years old and have 2 years of "local" gasoline delivery experience, to have a chance of interviewing with them. If you want to drive for Marathon, in their chemical fleet..they want you to have 2 years tanker experience, hauling chemicals. I use those examples..because I have been doing haz-mat since 1979.

Working private fleet as a driver is a good thing. You will simply need to decide what you want to do, career-wise, and work towards that goal.
