Why did I come back to driver recruiting? Quite simply pay. The job I took in financial recruiting didnt pay as well as what I was used to. I was actually going back to JB, however, I ran into this opportunity that I think has the potential to even pay me better than JB.
As far as the "lying recruiter" part. I still find it funny that in the years ive been on this board ive hired many many drivers from out here and NEVER HAS ONE COME BACK OUT HERE AND SAID I LIED TO THEM.
Yes, some recruiters lie, just like some truck drivers lie. But the fastest way to get fired in this business is to lie to a driver. So I dont.
Plus now that Im working with so many companies, lying to drivers would be the quickest way to lose those clients which would mean a smaller paycheck to me. So it just isnt going to happen.
Believe me, I think its great that you are happy with your two truck operation and your 75K a year job. Thats the important thing in life, to be happy with what you do and the pay you get. Personally I find it great that we live in a country where someone with such a meager IQ such as yourself can work really hard and squeeze out 75K a year. You are proof that anyone can become middle class in this country. Way to go, Skippy.

Your log in name is appropriate...... Keep up the good work of leading the sheep to your coolie carriers.......

If the industry paid well and treated drivers better, there would be no need for recruiters. Average 100% big-fleet turnover...the numbers tell the tale.

No these recruiters don't lie...they just don't tell tell the whole truth about the job either...if they did then their pool of suckers would dry up fast.

You would be wrong...there are recruiters in all industries. From medical, like nurses and doctors.....financial...stock brokers and investment bankers.....even executive recruiters who place VPs and CEOs into 7 figure positions.
Recruiters exist because there is a demand for them in all industries. We have a job because we are better at filling positions than any other form of marketing. Ive said this before....ITS MY JOB TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS ABOUT A JOB. Most of those answers will deal in AVERAGES. I can tell you what the average driver makes...I can tell you what the average driver gets in mileage. AVERAGES. The thing about averages is there will always be some who are BELOW AVERAGE and ABOVE AVERAGE. Whether you are a below average driver or an above average driver is not up to the recruiter like me...ITS UP TO YOU.

Uhhhh...how many recruiters are found in low-skill blue-collar jobs other than OTR truckdriving? The professions you mentioned are skilled positions where it's difficult to find people with the right education/work experience.

Our economy is changing...there are good-paying jobs out there but they require education/experience. The days of walking into a high-pay factory job are over. The only reason trucking is still around is because it can't be outsourced. However...as many people here will unfortunately realize...that won't stop cheap labor from flooding this profession once the government/big business gets its way. Yep, the writing's on the wall and it sure ain't in english.

Your services would not be required if the job paid well. Do you see recruiters for UPS trying to lure drivers into package-car/feeder positions? You only have a job because these cut-rate oufits can't keep drivers due to the low pay and crappy working conditions.

Before I left JB, we recruiters were outsourced to Praxair. A high paying tanker outfit. This job paid 65-80K a year and you were home every night. Outstanding benefits. If your theory is correct, why did they need us?
Right now Im recruiting for Sharkey, Home once a week, a very low turnover rate, 1000 bucks a week at least, guaranteed ( you can make more than that, but you cant make less). Great benefits including 100% company paid Medical insurance for Family. Why do they need me to recruit for them?
