What other companies do you recruit for in Illinois? Just curious if you know of any companies in Illinois who hire under 21. I know more than likely you'll say no but it's worth a shot isn't it?

Home once a week, a very low turnover rate, 1000 bucks a week at least, guaranteed

WOW. Home ONCE a week. All for a whopping 1k a week. After road expenses and taxes what is left of that 1k? This doesn't even include waiting time and layovers. Where do I jump on this offer?
A pizza delivery driver might be able to match up with that and be home every night. Maybe you should recruit for Mr. Jim's instead.

Under 21 you cannot go out of state but over 18 you can drive within the state. Look in your local paper and you might find a driving job running regional, although the pay might not be the highest. I was offered a local job with benefits at 850.00 a week when I was 19 and out of high school with a CDL. If you are that young investing in trucking full time might not be a good idea. Education should always come first.

You know talking with drivers everyday for so many years, I havent ran into too many local drivers who have a guaranteed 52K a year. I know there are some out there...like I said in an earlier post, at one time I was recruiting for a local job that could pay 85K a year. However, most of the time when I talk to a local driver about their pay, they are making around 35-38K a year.
You dont need to jump on the offer, son. 90% of the drivers I talk to daily would take that Sharkey job. Unfortunately most of the drivers I talk to dont qualify for that job.

Sucks to be them. Home only once a week equals one day off for every 7 out. All for just a grand a week. No thanks.

That is not OTR...that is a local tanker job that requires some skill...dealing with chemicals, hazmat etc. As far as Sharkey....LOL...nothing but another coolie carrier.

I don't know what local drivers you are talking to...most around here doing LTL or foodservice are doing $40-50K and home everynight and off every weekend. Even a coolie local outfit will do better than $35k...only because they're working round the clock for that money.

I have a job just like what you want but they dont have a office in So Cal. I wish they did so I could spend a little time out there around family. I from So Cal originaly but got out 16 years ago moved to Minneapolis MN where theres work O plenty with a half way good wage. I look on the internet at Driver staffing agencies. or agencys in California an see some some times. but that may be an idea for you. thats basicly what I work for. I have no problem changing Trucks an company attitudes on a regular basis. I work for Pro Drivers. The closest one to you is in Vegas. where I will do some work in Near future so I can drive over an visit family in a couple hours. This time of year can be a shade on the slower side compared to most of the year. but most of the year Im turning down work like its going out of style. And when I do get the good jobs I like and are paying a grand or better a week i can still tell my dispatcher I am taking next week off or month or what ever. and to hold my spot. Make sure you are in good standing with the people in the office. If you ever expect to get any of the above. But pro Drivers has been great for me for the same reasons your talking about and more. they have some light med dental. vacation pay Im just about for my third vacation pay check. Like I bought a house on E bay for a flipper in Nov aand needed some time to go to IN where it is at check it out and get it on the market and still have a job when I get back. Look toward temps or seasonal jobs for what you want. 8) and if you find any or know of any in Calif. So or No please post back and let me know. Good luck LIKE SAMMY SAID[ I CANT DRIVE 55

Preach some more to them about Sharkey.. like how they wont give you a $1000 a week anymore after you take your first week of vacation which will be unpaid no matter how long you've been there. Also drivers on the 1k a week program dont get bennies. Sign me up Sharkey.
