I was approved by safety already, bus reservations and hotel accommodations already set up. Then, ONE DAY before I leave to go to orientation, I get an email telling me that my application had been rejected. And this after they had already extended an offer of employment contingent ONLY on passing the drug screen, completing their orientation and passing a physical. No reason would be given for their rejection, hiding behind "company policy". IF I had a third party who had witnessed these things they told me, I would sue their butts off for breach of contract, but, as these conversations took place on the phone and no written communication was sent to me, I am screwed.

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that these companies don't actually hire you until you get through orientation. Can you explain a bit more about this contract you had with them for employment? I didn't know there was such a thing. I've heard about the pre-hire process, but that doesn't mean squat. All that means is they can hire you if they feel like it, but they aren't under any commitment to do so. I'm confused...

This isn't new - most of the major carriers don't even run a DAC report until the driver is either prepared to go to orientation, or is at orientation. Obviously, something in your past scared them off. Care to speculate on what it was?

There's got to be more to this story. Why would a company just all of a sudden not hire YOU? Are they not hiring ANY drivers? Why would they single YOU out if they didn't have a good reason? Maybe it's the "impaired driving" record that you was bragging about in another post? How many preventables do you have? How many moving violations do you have? If you're going to dog out a comapny and say AVOID IT, at least tell the whole story so folks researching companies have the straight scoop.
