Technically Crete doesn't do flatbeds except for a very small division of the company called Hunt transportation. If I were you I would stay very far away from Swift. It was the first company I ever drove for and it was pure misery. The pay alone is reason enough to drop them from consideration. I have heard decent comments about Maverick.

As far as P.O.W. comment about CFI being your best choice, you'll make more money driving for Crete.

So there I am, minding my own business, driving my nice Red Crete Peterbilt South on the I 15 in Central Utah and what passes me going North bound???

4 brand new shiny Red Volvos with Central Refridgerated's logo on the side, but no reefer van...no, they are pulling FLATBED TRAILERS.

Yep, Jerry didnt learn the first time, it seems that Central Flatbed is about to open shop in West Valley City Utah.

That's sad!! I knew a driver who ran flatbed for Swift (Ran???? More like a slow walk down the highway!!) as a solo driver; he was doing well to get 1800 miles per week. That was about two years ago, IIRC!!

I had some Swift drivers tell me that after Moyes was kicked out, Swift was becoming a more "Driver Friendly" company, and that as far as they were concerned, things were looking up!!!

Moyes wasn't about to let that happen!!

Hunt Transportation isn't an O/O only company and does hire company drivers. However, HTL was an O/O only company before becoming part of Crete three years ago.
