Default Marten Transport

Looking for some current info about Marten Transport out of Mondovi,WI.

If you are now driving for them or have drove for them in the last 2-3 months tell me about your experience with them.

Fyi, I live in Beaumont, TX, wondering how it would be getting home with them?

i'm sure this post won't really be that helpful but from all that i have heard marten is one of the better companies to work for.

Got pinned in waiting for fuel once because the two chicks driving the marten truck in the pull up at the pumps took about 30 minutes to get back to their truck after shopping in the store. grr. was on my way home too.

Marten has pretty good freight in that area last I knew, and a dropyard on the north east side of Houston. They have quite a few loads coming in and out of Houston. Lots of loads out of Annheiser Busch and living in that area you be in even better shape if you have a haz-mat endorsement.

Marten seems pretty good overall.

But with the refer, do they make lots of deliveries to food warehouses at odd hours?

I left Marten the beginning of May, but I have friends that still work there and I know not much has changed since I left. They do pay a sign on bonus now, but there's a reason for that. They also pay $25 on each end of hazmat loads, which is nice. They finally switched to Transflo Express also. I've already posted my experience/opinion of Marten Transport here if you want to read it. Good luck!

All i want to know is:

Are marten drivers getting lots of miles right now? (and yes, i understand that it is the slow period)

And do they deliver at funky (middle of the night) hours?

That's all i care about.

They got petes so that's definitely a positive.

Everyone who drivers a reefer usually has some type of midnight deliveries , as far as Petes go they do have them but they don't hand them out to rookies very often . They are a good company in general , if you are a rookie and want to drive a Pete I guess maybe Anderson is your best bet out of Minnesota .

You're darn tootin' they do. Reefer sucks, man. Yeah the length of haul is generally longer, but the BS you have to put up with at grocery whorehouses more than offsets it. Nothing like seeing those smiling faces full of cheer and good tidings to all truckers at Tyson/Sysco/Taylor Farms at 3AM. Then there's oodles of extra stops. Waiting in line at the Streakin' Beacon for washouts. Every load is max weight. Pallet swaps. Don't forget you have to fuel the damn thing every time you drop it (for free, of course). Uggghhhh....

Oh well, at least you'll have plenty of time to polish up your rims/fuel tanks.
