I could put up with a freightklunker for a while if i eventually get the pete/kw. Gives me something to aim for.

I didn't say i wanted 8 to 5. I can do 9 to 2am.

I think being a new driver, your being a bit to picky.
You will have to do driving at odd hours, and take what ever truck they give you period.

Get some time under your belt before you become TO picky

Depends on what you think loud is. Marten gets rid of their trailers after 6 years if i remember right. They have Thermoking refers and Carrier. Thermoking refers are the best in my opinion. They are a lot quieter than the Carriers. Once in awhile I'd hook up to one that was older and almost to the point of being traded in that maybe was a little loud but not that often. My experience was that I got used to the refer after only a week or 2. It very rarely woke me up. I usually slept with the truck shut down unless it was cold out and it still didn't bother me.

Default Marten

I got an '05 KW T-600 with 35,000 miles when I started with them last June. Luck of the draw.

I wanted one of those in the worst way. I had a mid-roof Columbia when I started which I hated and talked them into a new truck but all they would give me was a Columbia condo. I should have held it out longer with the mid-roof and waited till I could get into what I wanted. The Freightliners have lots of room but they are just not quality built like a KW in my opinion. I've had this itch the past few weeks about getting back on the road, not that I'm going to right now, but I would probably be calling Marten first. I left on excellent terms so I could maybe be a little specific on things I would want to come back, like a certain truck. I'll at least stay home for the summer.

You're doing it backwards. Stay home in the winter, when the weather is bad and freight is slow.
