As to "pretty much all companies doing like they did"...I don't believe it for a minute. I think a lot of companies and drivers alike would disagree and I certainly would not drive for nor represent one. Who is it that you drive for and or represent anyway?

If you feel that WH is such a great organization, then why don't you go and drive for them then.

First of all because I'm on Disability from driving Tankers in Iraq-Second of all prior to that I was a O/O and prior to that drove for other companies.
You haven't turned a wheel and you know all about the Business already.
Don't really care what you "Think" and you have some reality checks that you're going to find out soon. That is if you do end up driving trucks for a living.

Well I was never actually employed by WH, only attended orientation.

I'm considering Interstate and will be meeting with a OO this weekend to discuss what he has to offer.

Hwyfly...I agree with Ken_o on Roehl. I am getting close to my first year mark with Roehl. Overall as a company for new drivers they do fairly well. I am not saying that I haven't had my issues with them but I do realize that I am not going to "click" with everyone in the office including the fleet manager they assign me. Check them out and just remember that there is a lot of adjusting you will have to do when you are first getting into the industry. It takes time to figure out what can be changed and what can't. Find one company and stick it out for at least one year.

WOW this is making me mad. I have been driving for WH Transportation for a year and a half and I MUST SAY I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF RECEIVING A $100 fine for log book violations. Yes I have had a few. Only a few of the trucks are older trucks but they mainly stay in a couple houndred air mile radius of Wisconsin. Yes I am driving a 2002 which I have only a few problems with only called road service one time and nursed the truck home to fix it. Called road service when the starter went out on the truck and nursed it home when the clutch went out. I have never had a problem getting the truck serviced when requested since the management in the shop changed. Never had a problem getting new rubber on the truck when I requested. Yes granted they do have some problems but show me the perfect trucking company.
Good things about WH Transportation
Choice of fleets, OTR Van, OTR Flat, Regional Van, and HouseHaul
Good miles per week
Good Pay
Good equipment granted some of the trucks and trailers are older especially the flatbeds
95% autoshift fleet all the OTR and regional trucks are autoshift house haul are straight 10's
99.999% conventional fleet, only 1 cabover left but the driver of that is in the house haul fleet and wont give it up
and I know the recruiter I had before I hired on was honest with me but I came to WH with experience
Granted, WH does pull alot of broker loads inbound to Wisconsin or Illinios or Minnasota but we do pull alot of freight that ist broker.
If I had the chance knowing now what I do about WH would I have started here would I, Yes most defanatly except after I filled out my application online I would have returned thier call and started later that week instead of waiting 2 weeks 8)

I kinda knew that fine thing was garbage.
You guys run across my part of the country all the time and I never heard anything negative about WH. Just the opposite actually.

I agree yoopr they are a good company. Ya like most companys if you pay cash for a toll out of your pocket you have to match up the time. I am pretty sure that is standard pratice everywhere
if WH was as bad as that one person is claiming how do they have drivers who have been there 25+ years and several drivers have quit and come back several times. I found that out by talking to other drivers not from recruiting

if people want to know more about WH Transportation they can also pm me too. I am not employed by them anymore i am contracted to them since i bought a truck. I am back OTR again, God how I missed OTR,. Been with WH going on 2 years and happy with them. Alot of real nice drivers and the only time since going back OTR I have been pulled into scales is to do a permit check, mainly in WY, CO, and NM. They checked the cab card and I was on my way in under 5 minutes
