Layed off from Roadway and want to go OTR
#32
Well got my callback and go back on the wheel board Sunday 0001. I am looking forward to going back to Roadway. Looking back on deciding to go OTR I think was a good decision, I had a pretty good experience with JB Hunt. I will probably miss being OTR till I get adjusted to driving for Roadway again and getting called out at all hours.

For god sake Ben4, dont tell Cluggy or Useless that I didnt lie to you when I recruited you or that you enjoyed working here.....They might accuse you of being part of the vast JB Hunt conspiracy which controls everything including this message board.
Anyway....Im glad you did well, and good luck back at Roadway. If they lay you off again, get in touch with me, I would be happy to hire you again.

They claimed they detailed it but had never been touched. I refused to drive it (truck looked like an ashtray inside, ashes and cigarette buts everywhere) and came back the next day, still didn't touch it. I ended up cleaning it myself. *Columbus,Ohio- Came back from being off for 2 days. Truck wouldn't start Sunday 2000, called fleet support. They said wait till morning (was below 0 that night and several trucks were down). I slept in my car so the next morning so I could be first to get jumped. Woke up Monday 0500 and reported it, sat till 1200 that day. Again, they said they got it started. They never touched it. Turned in my toll cards and went home. My Fleet manager called me, apologized and offered a newer truck in Niles, Oh.(continue) *Niles,Ohio- Picked up truck after the whole thing in Columbus,Ohio. The truck was in service to get the sunroof re-sealed. Was dirty but not too bad. Ran into some heavy rain in Louisville,Ky. Still had a major water leak pouring down onto the dash, coming in between the windshield's(where the little clock is) Luckily it didn't ruin my CB. They said they were busy and could get to it the next morning. I had to get to Northern Indiana by morning so told them to forget it because a major front was coming in and they expected 6+ inches of snow. Made the delivery on time and it was the windshield leaking not the sunroof, fixed it with some duck tape over the seal outside of the truck. These were all pretty small issues but when someone lies to me, that really tends to get under my skin. Fortunately I had a pretty good DM, and he was pretty good at calming me down and getting me some good miles. I never had any mechanical problems, the trucks were all in good mechanical condition, lower miles, good tires, cold air, drove good and everything worked. Those are the only problems I had with JB.
