Von, thanks for sharing. Linehaul must be different than dedicated. I was able to get home a few nights each week, and was never discouraged not too.
I do remember the terminal off exit 24. Was it Milk Transport? MTI? I remember all the cabovers running across 80, and know where the terminal is there. Like mentioned above, if you choose to stay out for a few weeks at a time, they will run you farther, which isnt much different than longhaul, because they can get you home every two weeks also. About once a month or so, id stay out 2 weeks. Sometimes you get lucky, and make better $$, and other times you just have a reg linehaul week, but spend the weekend somewhere else.

![]() I could ramble for hours about our company, I'll try to stick to TMC on this thread. if nothing lucrative comes along in the next few weeks I'll very likely be applying.

What's TMC's status today? Starting to hear some rumors they might be bringing their drivers back to terminals. Any truth? Or just more driver talk. I've heard it from several now, so I'm thinking it's the current rumor of the day.
I do know that one big 600+ truck outfit up in Michigan, shut their doors today. This fuel issues is gonna smoke a lot of companies, including some big boys.

I am hearing the SAME THING TF here also. Heard that one of the MEGAS is close to bankrupt due to fuel costs. Also one of the ones I drove for in the 90's is going under called fuel costs are killing carriers very fast they are based out of WI another one I was with near were I live now folds this week. We are looking at maybe 25-40% of ALL the trucking companies folding simply do to 3 factors 1 HIGH fuel costs. 2 LOW Freight rates and 3rd High driver turnover rates instead of treating drivers like crap and spending 6K-8K to get a new driver into a truck spend 2K find out what is wrong and keep the current ones you have and fix the issues.
