I was thinking maybe I am a bit too far away from Iowa. Creek When I submitted my application I was on the phone the next morning and everyday after until I was hired. If you want it go after it. Just don't sit there. But, that is just me. Creek

1- Pick a company and stick with it for a MINIMUM of one year. Lucky for you you DID choose a good company with TMC even though it may not seem that way now. I would be back there in a minute if they let my g/f ride with me. 2- Look at the BIG PICTURE. Do NOT judge your job, your performance OR your company based on a few weeks or even months, but rather grade them by the YEAR. 3- Flatbed is seasonal and you will be making a LOT more come spring/summer. 4- You WILL be getting another truck shortly. Your truck IS old and WILL be rotated out of TMC. Sometimes it takes time. Allow them the time to do it. It isn't always instant. 5- Do NOT become a "job hopper" as you will definitely screw your chances for future employment and believe me, if you give almost ANY company a chance to grow on you, you will be more successful and much happier. Yes you DO need to buck up and take it since it WILL get better BUT...... You don't have to take it SILENTLY. As said earler, send in EVERY noteworthy problem with your truck or your FM via the Qualcomm, which is recorded. In trucking, happines and satisfaction with any company comes usually by giving the company a chance to work for you and you for them. Considering the short period you have been with TMC it is FAR too soon for any decisions to stay or go. If you continue to work with the "I'm being abused and persecuted" attitude, justified or not, you will NEVER find happines driving that Pete. Drive with the mindset of a sponge that is absorbing all these lessons of the road you are experiencing now and before you know it, you'll be laughing over a steak dinner at a truckstop a year from now telling your "war stories" to another newbie who is at his witts end. Good luck and stay safe, Flatbed Fred[/list]

Everyone be careful out there this week and throughout the winter.
This morning on the news I say lots of snow. Especially around DSM and NYC. Are you enjoying the snow Fred? Did you get to see the Christmas tree lighting? My wife and I made it to the Christmas tree lighting and carolling here in Austin last night. Just keep the rubber on the road and the shiny side up.
