His website was gone the day he quit TMC which made it appear as though he was not happy with TMC anymore.
My understanding was that "his" website was at least partly funded/acknowledged by TMC itself. He had initially said he would put something back up more general at that site, but I don't think it ever happened.

I am a company driver, and I don't think any regulars on here are TMC owner operators, but I could be wrong about that.

Those of you that are do you make alot more than a company driver does, taking into account all the expenses, do you get better loads than you did as an company driver?
My Trainer went Owner Op/Lease Purchase shortly after training me. He claimed he was making lots of money at first. He lives on I65 in KY so he got home every weekend with good freight. He got choices of freight usually, and after being a company driver for over a year had a good handle on where the good freight was. He did have a run of bad luck though. He had to replace windshields two weeks in a row. Then a few weeks later his trainee fell asleep at the wheel. Trainee was at the end of his second week and trainer was in the passenger seat. They were seven miles from the consignee. Trainer watched his chin drop and reached for the wheel but the trainee woke up and fought him for control sending them headon into the end of a line of concrete barriers. Repairs were handled by insurance for the most part except for the $2,000 deductible, and TMC refused to pay any part of that even though their employee was at the controls. So moral of the story: Did he end up with more money in his pocket? I doubt it.

DO you get good hometime?
As an owner operator you can get as much hometime as you can afford, usually not much.

Being a TMC employee do you get an discounts on trucks from their dealerships (Black and Chrome) or do you pay the regular prices that i see on their site?
I have never known TMC to give a penny off of anything, so I doubt it.

Starting out for TMC what are the chances of getting a 387 instead of a 379?
chances of getting a 387 depend on the availability at the time you get assigned a truck. I wouldn't count on it but it is a distinct possibility.

Does your personal credit score have any effect on getting a job with TMC? What about having a bankruptcy on the credit report.? SOme have told me it will limit who will hire me and who will not. Is this true or not??
Well I had good credit so I can't say for sure. Anybody else wish to admit to poor credit yet being hired by TMC?

Thanks in advance for the responses, and help.
you are welcome.

I had less than desirable credit and was not only hired at TMC but they sent me to school.

Well..lets just say that if they bothered to pay attention, BAD credit doesn't bother them too much

I accepted a load with three stops, air conditioners, going to South Florida. I may have made a mistake. It will be hard getting home this coming weekend, hard getting a load out of the South Florida. At least I make as much money on this one run as I do all week. I guess it will be worth it.

Well, hubby is stuck sitting in Portland, OR until Monday. He's been there since around 3 pm CST yesterday (Friday). Waited on a load...never got one, hoped for one this morning..didn't get one either, so there he is.

Kindof ironic, as the reason he's that far is that his numbers needed back up so he stayed out this weekend LOL. Oh well, sometimes thats just how the chips fall I guess.

Tell him to call his FM's number. Night dispatch will answer, eventually, tell him to ask if Kieth, the night load planner, if he has anything.

It was a craptastic freight week for all of us. Last Friday I unloaded in the usually productive New Jersey area at 0700 and was sent home w/o load in the afternoon. With the building industry/economy looking a bit sour, it could be a long winter.

Whatever happened to Mr. Grim?

I spent my week 2 with the owner/op and I must say it was 100% better than the first trainer. He keeps a much cleaner truck and is a fun guy to be teamed with.I have no complaints with him at all.Im still at it and dont plan to bail out.
