I can't believe you only had damage to your stack, Steve. I-17 has some steep hills. It isn't uncommon to see vehicles that are over heated even in the cooler months.

I believe you are right about these truck stops who have WiFi blocking your air card signal. There is no reason that I should have had a signal problem so close to Mobile, AL.

Too late now but I'll do it next time. After that chicken dinner I was ready to slip into a coma. I figured I would get to bed early and hit Walmart this morning if they are open. There's one right next to this place. I need more damn fruit and crap.

I'm going to make a bracket for my mountain bike when I get home also. That should be pretty easy. I'll probably move my ladder from the headboard to the back of the cab standing up then put the bike against the headboard.

I only have about 500 miles to go today then with my schedule I have another 7 hours I could play with in the morning before I deliver. I'll probably only do 200 to 300 today and leave the rest for tomorrow morning.

NO bicycles! Do you think you're on perpetual vacation or something?

LOL, ya, I know. I've never seen anyone else riding a bike around. I just look at all these HUGE FAT truckers and that's the last thing I want to be.

I just missed a guy driving down my side of the highway this morning and hit a semi head on and was killed. A trucker that passed me was telling the other truckers that it just happened.

I'm heading to Center CO to drop off in the morning. I noticed on the shipping papers that there isn't any address. I called and they said you don't need an address. I looked on the map and the town looks like a population of 100 people.

you sure are having your share of "close calls" lately....you'd better hightail it home and shut her down while you can

Yeah Steve get a bike on there, it works real good. You can get out for some fresh air, and get some exercise while you're at it.
I usually walk to the Mt Eldon trailhead, its only about a mile or so from the truck stop. Here's a small info-article on the trail:

Mt. Eldon, Flagstaff - This is a very popular trail - lots of bike traffic. However, it is a very nice place to ride. There is a lot of wooded single track, and some pretty decent downhill runs! (after the uphill climb, of course! Cheaters who ride their cars to the top are losers!). The elevation ranges from 7200' to 9200', so bring your lungs! There are many good trails on the mountain, so check around. Mt. Eldon is the little mountain in front of the big one North of Flagstaff, AZ.
My personal favorite is Little Bear Trail. Taken off of the Sunset Trail, this sweet little gem is 3.5 miles of sweet singletrack. The trail is cut into the side of the mountain (way steep - the mountain, not the trail). There is an elevation loss of about 1000' so you can guess just how much fun this trail is!

I plan on moving to Flagstaff in the next couple of years, its beautiful land.

I have the same issue. I think the turbo kicks in sometimes and sometimes it doesn't.

Also as for the bike issue, where does it hang from? Obviously in the back but do people have hooks wielded on? I don't want to get fat either. I have my jump rope with me but never use it. You need to shower right after which means I need to do it in a truck stop and in a truck stop as we all know, it smells like one big toilet.

The bike I plan to mount on the front of my headboard with some type of custom setup. The aluminum is easy to drill through and a bike should be no problem in figuring something out. My ladder is on there right now but I plan to mount that to the back of the cab standing up. I'll have someone weld up 2 little rectangular pieces of metal for the ladders feet to slip into then bungee the top of the ladder to some small eyes that I rivet to the back of the cab.

I've settled in on a diet for the time being. I have a bowl of Special K for breakfast then fruit and vegetables to munch on the rest of the day. For dinner I have something good.

Jumping rope is one of the best things you can do for exercise. I've been doing it for maybe 5 years now. You do need to get a professional rope though that has handles that allow the rope to slide smooth. I also do Hackie Sack. I must say, I'm pretty good at it and can jump into any group and join in. I don't see the kids doing it any more. Walking is a crock unless your really humping it. Even at a good pace your lucky to burn off the apple you just ate after an hour of walking.

I headed out on Friday for an easy drive from San Diego to Center Colorado. Nice trip so far. Instead of going the same route I did where I got hit with that rock I took 285 which added about 35 miles but it was so easy I'll never do that other road again.

I stayed in a hotel last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in Antanito Co and checked into some Train something motel. It was great. $38 bucks. Went next door to the Mexican restaurant and killed myself with hot food. Then took a walk to the old train station next door. They have scenic rides on an old steam engine but I was too late and they already left. I did get to check out all the old trains and that was way cool.

I just made the trip into Center CO and sitting here waiting for the place to open so I can find out where it is. Thousands of Mexicans walking down the street in the dark. I pulled over and just saw tons of buses pull up and they all got it. I have a feeling they all work on the farms. I understand this town has lots of onions. One of my onion brokers called me last week and says he deals with this neck of the woods and may get me something out today.
