I was having trouble with my connection this morning, kept going in and out even though I had an excellent signal. I'm in the middle of the New Mexico desert and now have a Broadband connection, go figure. Just took a little snooze.

Ya, that lady was a feisty one. I didn't ask but I'm assuming she must have been married to some sailor officer with a big pension to be betting $75 a spin on the slots.

Saw about 10 border patrol on the middle of the highway this morning near Texicali with a bunch of Mexicans. No other cars other than the border patrol so I'm assuming they were on foot trying to make a run for it.

I am amazed at the signal in some places. I have had a weak signal at the Pilot near Victorville, CA but managed to get out. But it was so slooowww. I was in Mobile, AL at another Pilot and could not get out at all. :?

I'm pretty sure these truck stops are over stepping there frequency bounds to disturb your wireless connection so you use theres. I've gone 100 yards down the street and the connection was perfect. Back to the truck stop and it disconnects every 5 minutes.

Now you need a set of those personalized exhaust shields. You've seen 'em I'm sure. They would have Steve Booth stamped into the shield instead of Western Star. I'm sure their very cheap! LOL

Man oh man! talk about good luck :D Some might consider that bad luck, but I would consider it the opposite. Like you said, it could have destroyed your hood or went threw the window and knocked you in the head.

Nope, I'm very happy with the outcome. The damage was so focused to one spot. The parts are already in at the dealer. I'll try and do the work myself but I have a feeling the muffler will take an air chisel or something to get it off. The place where I park my truck has a huge garage with a full time mechanic that maintains there construction equipment. I talked to him before and he is willing to do part time work so I'll probably have him do it.

I'm leaving at the end of this month to move my mother from Kentucky to Florida so my sister can be close to her. It will only take a few days and I think I'm going to rent a car and take a week off and roam around for a while.

Man, what a tough pull through the mountains in Arizona on Rt 17. At some points we were all doing 25mph. Once again, trucks and cars all over the place on the side broke down or over heated.

I'm in the Little America truck stop in Flagstaff. I seem to always end up here. Just had my one meal of the day. Half a roast chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw and a roll. I am in freaking heaven!!!!!!!!!!! I've been eating only fruit and vegetables for breakfast and lunch.

You're at my favorite truck stop Steve, now walk up to the Mt. Elden trail head and have a good short day hike,...you'll love the view from up by the fire tower.
BTW,....that was some hit to your truck,..I agree,...it was the best place to get hit,..the damage could have been much worse.
