Good luck with the camera, Steve.
Hope it all works out for ya, and have fun! 8) |
I would say my average run is about 500-600 miles right now. I have been staying closer to home due to my wife being ill plus the rates are simply not there right now. If the rates were there and my wife felt better then I would likely start hauling longer. I prefer running West.

That is what we want to do....Haul short and good money. We would like to stay MD south and East of the mississippi for a while. I think we can get good rates and stay close to home (boat) for a while.
I wrote down a bunch of numbers for timber companies so, we were thinking of maybe doing some stick hauling and be home EVERY night....??!! tootie (who is still on the boat) 8) |

Ya, I do love the long hauls and staying out for 3 weeks at a time. I'm on the Mass Pike shut down for the day. My load is part of a steel house and instead of 45,000 it's about 30,000. It pays to be nice to the guys loading you and treat them with respect. They gave me the light load with no tarp required instead of the one I was suppose to get. I wasn't suppose to show up until 11 and I was there at 8. I figured I would just sit and download porn like I always do. The other truck wasn't there so they were happy to see me.
I'm sitting across from a farm with cows and wondering what goes through there head. It's like, hey, lets all walk over there. They get there and just stand doing nothing. I mean, what the hell are they thinking, the grass is greener over there. Lots of cops on the highway today so far. My Jake is perfect now. It comes on low at 1mph over then med another 1mph and full another 1mph and doesn't shut off until I'm back to my cruising speed. I've put on 3 pounds since I started so I had salad for dinner. $5.00 for it and I could have had a Whopper instead. I'm already hungry. I look at those cows and all I think about is steak. I better go to bed. Maybe tomorrow I'll post the video of my rear end in action. It's seems pretty sturdy and doesn't shake at all. I'm surprised since it's greased up pretty good. I looked for cracks and holes but didn't see any so I can rule that out. Maybe once I hit KY I'll give it another try and see if it's loosened up at all. |
