I got a call from a broker today who had an emergency. He got a call from a trucking company and they needed a flatbed going from where I am to Jersey City leaving today. One of there trucks broke down and this was a new customer they were dealing with and they didn't want to lose the account. I told the broker I could leave now so he called the shipper and she called me right away.

The deal was to take this persons flatbed to Jersey City, drop the trailer then bobtail back to get my trailer. She almost dropped dead when I quoted $1.50 per mile there and $1.00 per mile back. She pretty much wanted to pay me $.80 per mile. I told her there are over 900 flatbed loads within 100 miles of where I am and come Monday morning my phone will be ringing off the hook with $2.00 per mile+ loads. So that was that.

She also got mad when I laughed at her when she told me $.80 cents per mile. I told her normally I would have just hung up on you for even offering that.

I can't go anywhere right now after eating that HOT food. My stomach is the size of a watermelon and I'm confined to my little room here for the night.

I'm so sorry Steve! I didn't even think about them being closed on Sundays! I'm glad you found somewhere to eat. But HOT Thai! You did get that incinerator on board didn't you!

tootie- I used to be a Jamals fan, but I think my mom burned me out on them and I haven't been there in years. When we get thru Tulsa it's either Ricardo's or Elmer's BBQ. In fact our DD is flying in from Honolulu on the 30th and the first thing she said was "we have to eat at Ricardo's when I land". Rellenos and margaritas :)
