I am just finishing steaming up some FRESH shrimp and getting a cold beer out of the fridge!
Oh MAN do I miss fresh (gulf) shrimp and a cooold beer sitting and chilling on the dock. Wait...do I hear the faint echo's of a Jimmy Buffet song??? Seems like a lifetime ago for me, you all are making me extemely jealous and wanting to execute my plan earlier than anticipated.. 8)

When are you going to explore Pamlico Sound and make your way across to the outer banks? Glad you're making it work in NC!!

I told the broker I could leave now so he called the shipper and she called me right away.

The deal was to take this persons flatbed to Jersey City, drop the trailer then bobtail back to get my trailer. She almost dropped dead when I quoted $1.50 per mile there and $1.00 per mile back. She pretty much wanted to pay me $.80 per mile. I told her there are over 900 flatbed loads within 100 miles of where I am and come Monday morning my phone will be ringing off the hook with $2.00 per mile+ loads. So that was that.

She also got mad when I laughed at her when she told me $.80 cents per mile. I told her normally I would have just hung up on you for even offering that.

WOW

Guess they didn't care about losing that account after all then

I thought what I offered was very reasonable. She really sounded sincere and in a bind so I offered a low rate knowing I would be coming back to Tulsa and great rates in the end.

I'm still dying here from the hot food yesterday. That's ok about yesterday Ahtum, I love Thai also so it was good. Never say KILL ME to a Thai cook.

I'll have to visit Tootie and Bo and get the crabs this summer.

Had a scenrio were I stopped and grabbed a drink and what I thought were two hot dogs... These things wern't just your ordinary dogs... spicy as hell. And I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food. Ate them out only for the reason I paid for em..

Showed up to my terminal while back, they had pizza out for the Orientation class... grabbed what I thought was ham/pinapple pizza.. Buffalo chkn pizza. Again.. had to eat it, couldn't put it back

Not sure how you guy's do the spicy stuff.

Steve, is the money treating you well so far.. are you exceeding your expectations.. meeting them??

I've been eating spicy food for a long time and can take it pretty hot. The more you eat the hotter you want it.

With regards to money I'm just exceeding what I thought I would do when I was an arm chair dispatcher before I started. I am spending a lot more on stuff than I thought I would. I don't have much in the way of bills so I've been putting a lot of money back into the truck. I've had things done like all the belts replaced, all hoses replaced and every little thing either replaced or fixed. I had all the door gaskets replaced and now the truck is as quiet as a Cadillac when the windows are up.

In what way Steve? You mean you've netted as much in 7 months as you estimated you would in 12?

No, I still have the vibration but I have my camera with me and as soon as I feel like it I will video the front end. Been kind of lazy about it and keeping it under 70.

No, I figured I would only run 2,000 miles a week and 65% of the time at $1.35 cpm and $1.10 the rest.

It seems there is no lack of freight for me to pull no matter where I end up. I've only sat without a load twice for almost 2 days.
