I'm pretty sure LS will also have a problem with you posting rates and customers are etc. That's what PM's are for.

I think I already know the answer to this question, but I'll ask it anyway just in case we get busy and I need a truck every now and again.........will LS allow you to find your own loads?

That's why I got rid of the blog As for the question, I'm interested in that too. I'll start a new thread in case someone with Landstar experience can help.

Man, what a bummer. I just sent you a PM asking about your Blog and then I saw this. I wish you the best of luck. I look forward to any future updates.

Well, the paperwork part of the 3 week hiring process is almost over It's just been confirmed that I'm attending the 2-day orientation for Landstar in Hamilton, ON this coming Monday, Aug-30! I intend to be paying close attention in the classroom and I need to make this work. Okay, agents, agents, agents ... how do I find good ones and get into their "white books". That's the main thing. Hopefully, I"ll learn all this from 8 am till 3 pm on Monday. You'll never guess how many people are attending

I'm guessing 2 people. You and the dispatcher from your previous company.

I actually did the export of the blog to my computer before deleting it, but then I was switching computers and the file got lost in the process. The more I think about my departure from MacKinnon, the more I think they just used blogging as an excuse. I was reading the terms of pay and noticed that after three years of service with the company, they pay:

-100% of Heavy User tax ($550)
- Canada Border transponder (some $200 a year)
and some other stuff

Until 3 years, it's split between the owner/operator and the company, and if you have less than 1 year, you pay it yourself 100%. I joined them in April 2007, and I was "no longer with this company" as of August 5th, 2010. You do the math.

Maybe I do tend to get into too many details online about the trucking business that some people find are 'too much'. Unfortunately, one of the chief honchos at my previous employer was one of them But one of the reasons I do that, is that I can't stand b/s. And that was the mode operando at the company I should have left years ago.
