Okay, now show me where profit is listed in there, and where it is supposedly lumped in. After all, profit is not a cost, and that list shows costs. Profit is revenue above costs, including salary. My salary does not include the profit from the business. That is separate, and would be listed on a revenue spreadsheet (which I have, and have posted numbers from in the past).

If you ran with your Dad then he could just pay you for the miles you run or pay the equivalent of 1/2 the solo driver pay for all miles run. He could also pay you a flat percentage of the rate, which is how some of us pay our drivers.
If 1000 mile runs were the norm then it may be worthwhile. The reality is that 1000 mile runs are not available all of the time. Some times you make little 300 runs to get to better paying freight. There are some areas of the radius where he doesn't like going. He doesn't like going to PA, NC, WV because of the toll roads or mountain ranges and feels most freight doesn't pay enough for him. Add into that he wants to be home every weekend.

I do 1000 mile runs most every week.....some times I do it twice in the week.

I do "little 300 runs", because those are my good paying freight. So good that I'm willing to deadhead back from the receiver to get more of it.

Yes, we all know that revenue doesn't matter to you. Just keep skirting around the issue, because it's clear that you don't understand the basic business concept behind profit.
