I'm sure that loud pipes make it easier to hear a bike coming, but why do some riders with the loud pipes go out of their way to make so much noise. I could understand the whole thing better if they would have some respect,....look you know your bike is loud,...why do you have to be immature about it. Get off the throttle while going through a neighborhood and have some respect for a cager with their window down, or a person on the sidewalk.
The same could be said for drivers that jake in a non-emergency situation or bobtailing etc. It's a sword that cuts several ways.

Rev, sorry to hear about the boat anchor. Talked to Mark today and he was cool with what you had done, just wasn't sure you were going to save $$ over a Tri-Pac in the long run....

Well, that sucks. I don't think you would have been able to sleep anyways just out of fear. A good learning experience for everyone for sure!

Duck, I agree 100% drivers who roll through a truckstop with their jake on  especially the ones with straight pipes.

Rev, there are two smells that get to me everytime, burning human hair (long story) and burning/melting wires. It's good you caught it in time.
Did you add the extra fan?
Was the fuel return to the fuel tank crimped?

Try this website they are located in Jacksonville, and have a decent product. This is where I'm getting my next one if I can't keep the one I have running.

You could afford a really nice set up if you'd quit spending your money on broads. 8)

I can still smell it, although I'm sure it's my imagination.

No and no. It's quite possible the extra muffler added too much backpressure which caused the temps to run a lot higher. I really don't know. That water heater wrap you suggested, however, melted into a rock solid mess around the wires that burned the second time.

Thanks for that link. It appears as if they can come up with a system based upon what you need. I'm going to call them when I get a chance and see what they can do as far as building me a generator that would fit in the box I already had built. If I can't squeeze a water cooled unit in there, I guess I built a $2500 storage box.

Please store all your money, gold, and jewels in there. And then let me know your address. :P

Yeah heater hose works with hot water,......not an open flame  .
It's probably not the added muffler, the muffler looks like a straight through type and all they do is absorb some sound waves they create almost no back pressure on the system.
The dimension if the unit I sent you to are I think 24" by 24" footprint, and 22" high.

OR.......Is it possible that Revs homemade APU has gained national exposure? The price of crude just dropped 10.00 per bl in two days...... inventories are rising. Holy cow.
