I just looked at the map again and I think I'm going to stay on 84 to Scranton then to 81. It doesn't add that much to my route and I can skirt that whole mess.

They must have been doing some blitz on 90 East yesterday with 4 wheelers. There was one car after another pulled over for speeding I'm guessing.

I got to get me some better emergency food. That sirloin burger and vegetable soup in a can was pretty bad. I'm ready for some real food and a nap around 8 this morning!!!

When I bought cans of soup it was the grilled chicken and sausage gumbo. Good stuff.

Who made it?

I'm all set now. Just pulled over, had a huge steak and cheese sub and ready for a snooze. For about 200 miles this morning I was in the thickest fog I've ever been in. I could see 3 white lines in front of me and that was it. I was doing 40mph and trucks were still wizzing by me at more than 60.

I couldn't pull over because it was too late by the time I saw the exit or rest stop. There was no advanced warning that a rest area was coming up because you couldn't see any of the signs on the side of the road. It sure takes a lot out of you doing that kind of driving.

Well, nap time is happy time.

Well, it's been an interesting few days going through the remnants of the tornadoes in the south. I went into some wicked lightening and rain and that was pretty cool. I got to see a huge bolt hit a cell tower but no big deal as they are grounded to the the max.

Been taking my time and should be at my destination tomorrow but won't unload until Saturday morning at 7am. The crane is going to an oil field out in the middle of nowhere so it should be a nice easy job to get in and out.

After I'm done unloading I plan to find a truckstop and restock the truck and I brought along a few goodies to install and some parts to service my Rigmaster. I'll probably get a PM some place too since I'll have the weekend off. It will feel good to work on the truck outside in the warm weather for a change. Suppose to be in the 70's. I'm outside Baton Rouge, LA and it's around 70.

I have some fog lights that I plan to bolt onto the front bumber and I'm wondering if there are some fog light wire ends some place? I have a dedicated switch inside the cab for fog lights so I'm assuming there are some connections some place close to the front end. I do see a few connectors not hooked to anything so I'm hoping I can just put a meter on and read a voltage with the switch on then off to test.

I did a little experiment and did 65 the day before yesterday and got 5.9mpg and today I did 60. I'll do 60 all day tomorrow and see what the result is but from the looks of the fuel gauge I seem to be doing really good. I may try 55 some day but not with this load since I'm almost there.

The speed limit was 70 all day today and the traffic was real heavy most of the time but doing 60 was like I was the only person on the road since I never encountered anyone to pass!!

Not much else to mention. Just lots of cruising, nice roads, listening to music and enjoying the warm weather.

I been lighter on to go-go pedal and noticed a increase in mpg. I was doing about 5.5mpg haulin ballz across the desert and making time. Going 70 (in a 75) I can get just about 6. Over a 2300 mile trip, it adds up My rear end is 3.73, so it takes some rpm's to get it up to 75!
