I'm stuck at a truck stop right before the cabbage patch. 3 trucks crashed into one another so we are stacked and packed here for how long I don't know.

No problem, I'm all stocked up, fueled up, plenty of coffee and enough supplies to last 3 weeks.

I'm planning on delivering my load on the 26th in Ohio so I have tons of time to get there. I already have a load from Ohio back home then I'll take a week off and head back out again.

The load I have now is hardened steel that they make tanks out of. It's 24' long by 8' wide and there are 11 of them. I only had to use 1 tarp and I was able to just unfold the tarp and strap it down in no time. When I deliver I'll be able to just fold it back up and roll it up.

There's some big fat hooker walking around here and from what I can see she is doing a bumper business.

Damn, where did I put those cheesy puffs.

 

Yesterday I was getting on the highway and I saw a truck wrecker and he was lifting up some big metal roll. It looked like a giant tuna can and I'm thinking where the hell did that come from. I look up ahead and there was a flat bed with a curtain or conestoga thing and I could see where the thing must have rolled right off the truck. I thought of that when I read you're carrying steel.

As for the hookers, I'm at the T/A in Montgomery Al and it looked like it was full so I pulled into a lot next door and mid afternoon already two hookers and some guy selling jewerlyat my door. One was actually very pretty and in a nice car but looked like she had a crackhead in the car with her. What drugs will make a person do. I said the hell with this and found a spot at the T/A

 

sounds like your at Pendleton. Is there a casino up the street from you?

It looks like they got some snow there from the webcams.

That restraunt has good food, I think.

Yup, there is a casino up the road from me. The truck stop filled up pretty quick and they sent people back down 80 the other way. What a drag for them.

They let us go about an hour after I posted and I made it over the cabbage patch. The chain law was in effect but it was just slush. 5 billion trucks just went through without chaining up. We figured what the hell are they going to do, pull us all over? It was ridiculous so we all said screw it. No problems what's so ever and I'm past the Flying J at a rest area for the night.

I was going to stay out for a while but a few loads came up that payed really well and I have a doctors appointment on Jan 2 that I would have had to cancel. I will always take a load back home if there is one that pays good.

I should be home on the 27th then back out the next week after my appointment. Hopefully I'll get another load out West.

 

Actually I was talking to the first one and I asked her why she doesn't go over to the T/A instead of standing in that parking lot with only two trucks. She said no way, that they run her out of there. Hence my decision to come over here.

 

I spent last night at the Hook south of Montgomery. Much quieter environment out at Tyson.

 

You aren't lying. This place is the worst area I think I have ever stopped at. And I have been in areas that are supposedly bad. On top of that I can't understand a word anyone says. They don't understand me either. I just went to get something to eat and between me and the girl at the counter, we must have asked eachother "what" 50 times. I should have stayed at the Flying J 10 miles south.

 

steve....You can get by without chaining up sometimes BUT wait till you come up on the interstate shut down and a guys in the middle of the road with flashlights (if at night) checking for your chains.

In CA they have a booth they put in the middle of the road and check for chains.

Hopefully we wont have to chain up on 26 tomorrow to get to Portland. We have a stop in Bend tomorrow before 3pm
