Very cool Steve. Sunshine Mine has been there a long time. Of course....it was closed up for like, 80 years, before it re-opened back in the early 90's. I have several friends from school (grade/high) that work there. Whitehall was one of the towns I grew up in.......was in first grade there when Kennedy was shot. Finished school 30 miles south of there, in Twin Bridges.

Hey steve....
I am glad you are OK!! Yes heat exhustion (sp?) will get you QUICK in the dry heat of the southwest. You dont sweat like you do in other parts of the country. Always make sure you drink plenty of water....DONT wait till you are thirsty....your body is already near being in trouble by then. From what I remember you are not a really big guy.....you are average height and weight so the heat can affect you quicker than someone bigger than you. Bo and I tarped a load of hay in AZ....it was 120 out and I was dizzy and light headed long before Bo. In fact the heat didnt faze him like it did me. So anyway be VERY careful out there this summer!! tootie

I didn't leave that place until I had to go to the bathroom. I think I drank a total of 1 1/2 gallons of water and a bottle of Gatorade. They gave me some electrolite pills also. I guess this is common in the Southwest and there medical kits have these.
I ended up getting a load of copper from TMC to take me home. I got there at maybe noon and the place was deserted. I usually have to wait to scale my empty truck then wait in line to do paper work. I got to the loading place and the girl said I was the only person today. She came up to my truck and I said I don't have any pants on, should I put some on? She looked at me funny and I realized what I had said. I said wait, I meant, I have shorts on, should I put some long pants on. She laughed. I was loaded in no time and secured in record breaking time. Not too hard for a newbie. It was an absolutely gorgeous day out too. Back to the guard shack and scaled out. Had to resist asking the cute guard out to dinner. Just as I'm leaving I see 5 flabeds in a row heading in. They ask about the line and I tell them there isn't anybody there. I drove maybe 160 miles on the only road into the mine and probably counted at least 50 trucks heading in. Those guys are going to be there until the next day getting loaded up. I was lucky for sure! My front end is still shaking and when I got to a T/A to shut down for the night I had them look at it again. They pulled off both drums and checked everything they could but can't find anything other that they see a small space in the engine mount but there not sure if that's normal on my truck. I'm going to bring it back to the dealer when I get home and hope they can find the problem. It's driving me crazy. At 65 it's ok but anything over that it starts. Can't feel it in the steering wheel but the truck is shaking at 70 and 75. Learned how to change a fuel filter also. This guy was doing it himself and had a small pail with a plastic bag in it to catch the old filter. Before he put the new filter on he filled it with injector cleaner instead of fuel. If you read the instructions on the injector cleaner it tells you to do this for better results. Never read the instructions before. I'm a guy, we don't need to read instructions or get directions...RIGHT...!!! lol I'm going to take a detour going home instead of the major highways today and run through Roswell NM and look for some aliens. I'm only about 150 miles so I'm taking my time this morning so when I get there it will be light. I know aliens only abduct people at night so I should be safe by the time I get there. I ordered a Angus Whopper from Burger King last night because they come in a foil wrapper which I will use to make a hat so my brains won't get sucked out by the mother ship. I'm pretty sure that's what happened to GMAN and they replaced his brain with a super computer trucker one. I should be home by the weekend and will put my truck into the shop right away and have a minor PM and hopefully the front end problem fixed then back out again right away.
