Yup, that's it on both. Had a tasty sirloin steak tonight and it was good! I'll have to mark this place on my truckstop directory.

Yup, I hear ya GMAN. When I was heading over to Vernal I had to watch out for the cows on 190 I think it was. The wind is still blowing here pretty good but it's real nice out. Got the windows down and the breeze is blowing through the cab.

If you have some extra time on your hands while in El Paso and want to venture across the border, I suggest that you park the truck and take a cab across. There are some people who will take you across. They advertise on the CB all the time. I would say the Petro would be the best place to park if that is what you want to do. It isn't far to the border from there and the taxi come to the Petro on a regular run. You don't want to take your truck across into Mexico. :?

I may stay an extra day and head into Mexico. The guys at the last truckstop said there is a guy named Cowboy Jack or something like that who takes you across as a small group so I may do that.

I've been to Mexico a few times but not at this particular border crossing. It was always on business and not in tourist type places.

Yet another fine day and great weather for sleeping last night. I'm only about 125 miles from El Paso and will probably stop for a little snooze soon then roll into the Petro as Gman suggested.

Steve,

Check the new passport regulation about U.S. citizens required to have a passport to re-enter the U.S.

Is that being enforced now ? I'm sure those selling the cross-border trips know.

Yeah, there is a hook on the south side, and a Petro on the north side. Want some advice, Steve? If you need fuel, that's ok. Just dont sleep over night.
Not sure if I did this right, but replying to Jackrabbit 379's comment.
Is it unsafe to sleep overnight in that part of Texas? Is that what you were referring to?
How would a person know where it's safe to stay for the night or not?
