The super-duper cool kids have myspace and facebook

I know what ya mean, steve, about excessive passing. I usually beat everyone up the hill, but I'm usually the slowest one down. The bottom of the hill will be there in 2 min, the extra time it takes to navigate it safely :P

I'm glad I have my little electric heater. I shut off the heater water valves yesterday so no heat this morning. It's not cold but heat sure feels good. I almost forgot about that little sucker, works good! wouldn't be too hard to put some electrically controlled water valves in line with the system then you could turn them on and off as you wanted.

Good thing I called the customer yesterday. The address was wrong on where I'm going. It's not even Fort Worth. It's a small suburb called North Richland Hills.

We leanned the hard way to ALWAYS verify addresses!! You never know when something is off. One time we went 40 miles out of our way only to find the street address was spelled wrong.....I even verified this address but the streets sounded the same but spelled different.

Made it to the customer site around 4am and was able to go back to sleep. My truck was posted as available today so off I went to a truckstop to do laundry. Around 9am the phone starts ringing non stop. In fact, it's beeping while I'm talking to someone else saying there's another call coming in. I'm turning down loads left and right just because they were too short a run. Around 10am I get a call to go to El Paso 600 miles away. I take the load for $2.00 per mile.

They are having trouble with there fax machine and my insurance agent is on vacation and someone else filling in so it was a pain getting setup today and doing all the paper work. I had to be there no later than 3pm and only had 15 minutes to spare until I realized I was now in a different time zone so that gave me an extra hour.

TONS and TONS of traffic and construction and many impossible turns or so I thought. Had trouble backing up in the customer site on my blind side until I finally went around in a circle and attacked it from the other side. Was loaded up in no time. There was a lady in charge of everyone being loaded and these guys were not going to slack off with her around. I told her after that it was nice to see someone with an iron fist keeping the ball rolling.

I was loaded up in no time with 48,000 pounds of plywood although I don't think they are even close to that. I can still start off in 3rd gear with no problem.

This load had to be tarped and it's 80 down here and I'm sweating bullets. Everyone make a mental note of this. DO NOT drink a gallon of grape juice while tarping if you get my drift!!!!

I pretty much had to take a bath in the sink after I was finished. I kept my truck running the whole time with the A/C on and took a lot of breaks but I was still done in record time for me. Getting better at tarping. Had to change my clothes in the truck before I took off.

I don't have to deliver until Monday so that's good. I've been going from one load to another and need to catch up on invoices and more laundry. Maybe a stop at Walmart to restock more stuff and maybe a few more cans of coolant for the A/C.

All in all a good trip so far since I left home.
