I have to go with D A here, I guess when you say synthetic rubber you need to define what it will be used for in its finished state, but from the recyclers website it is petroleum based..

While tires may have petroleum in them, I have seen no evidence that hoses are made from the same material. And just because they may have petroleum in them does not make them "petroleum based".

Sorry Rev.,

The EPA years ago, forced the manufactures to convert over to water based......
Mandatory for collision/paint shops in Calif. also.
