Just put everything on the flat and throw a tarp on top.
Steve heads to Florida.... :P

Get a storage vault from a moving company and load her stuff into it at residence. They are big boxes that (pretty much) clamp together, that way it looks like a regular box. She may need more than one, but either way they forklift right on to your flatbed.

The added bonus is you can take a partial with along the way on your flatbed!

Illegal? Yes. Will you get away with it? 99% sure ya will
I'll probably rent a 53' van. I've moved around a bit and will hire some moving guys to lift and pack the truck. I've used them a bunch of times in the past and they are animals and work pretty cheap. I always gave them more than twice what they charge. After I unload the truck I'll roam around with the van for a couple of weeks and see how I like it.

Well, I'm all packed up and ready to go. My truck is posted and we'll see if I get out today. After a week at home I'm itching to get back out there. I feel like I've been home for a month. I've found out one thing. When a broker calls they assume I'm in the truck and ready to head over to the customer for a pickup just like a company driver like Crete or others. In the past I've been like, OK, I'll be there in 4 hours because don't you understand I'm at home, have to make lunch, shut down the house, take a nap and so on and so on. That's not the case most of the time. They calculate the mileage and say OK, I'll tell the customer you'll be there in 45 minutes.

So we'll see what today brings!
I was home to long myself, Steve. I'm currently sitting under a load in Lincoln, because the truck needs a B service done first thing in the morning. I should have had them do it when I got here yesterday, but I was tired from driving all night and still being a lazy bum. Now I wish I'd gotten it done yesterday, because I'd be on the road to Ottawa, KS by now. Oh well, hindsight's 20/20. Good luck on your outbound load.
I hope your not literally sitting under the load!!!! I just sent email about a load going from VT to Montana. I've never been to MT and sounds like a nice ride. Email for loads doesn't work that great though. Most I never hear back at all.
Yeah Steve...I've fallen and I can't get up! :P

I went up through Butte to Helena a few weeks back. Sure is beautiful country, but damn it gets cold!
It is beautiful in Montana. I don't like cold weather, either. It feels like Montana here this morning. It is 15 degrees. BBBBRRRRRRRR!!!

So Steve, are you thinking about going to vans?
Quote: So Steve, are you thinking about going to vans?
No, definitely not. I love the flatbed. I just figured once I'm out with a van after unloading my sister I would keep it for a few weeks.

Now, if only the phone would ring.
What part of Florida is she moving?
