You will get to see some Mule Deer and some Elk along the road. That always got my hind leg shaking.

I've only driven the Midwest until the last month or two, although I have driven Eastern Tenn (Cumberland) and last week Colorado so I'm working up to it before Winter gets here. :-)

I think I'll be ok. The guy I'll be teamed with lives in Seattle and has been on this account 3 years. The way it works is I drop him at home, deliver (3 stops paid hourly) take a night off then pick him and the reload up and head home. On the plus side, my sister lives an hour from Tacoma (my last drop) and is off work the 2 days I'll be there.

So.....yer sister lives where? Graham? Puyallup? Gig Harbor? Hmmmmmmmm?

Brave or crazy? It's a fine line. Honestly I wold prefer a goofball like you to some long-winded know-it-all. You know the type.

I'm taking my air matress but trying to figure out how I'm going to climb into the top bunk. Step stool at least.

I've seen a lot of wild life out there but still hope to see that elusive Jack-a-lope.

Actually, there's a lot to be said for those "long-winded, know-it-alls. Look at Romney and Obama, look at all the money they have, and there are a lot of people that are giving them even more to spend...... I, for one, do not think you're crazy. Of course, I could be crazy too, so I wouldn't know the difference.....

There should be some steps built into the cabinets that you can use. Look for the "non-skid tape" stuck on a couple of horizontal surfaces. First step may be the lower bunk. But......

I.... Believe..... I'd be a bit more concerned about how I was getting OUT of the top bunk... Does that truck have the bunk straps or netting for the upper bunk? I seem to remember something about the upper bunk was not to be occupied while the truck was moving.... No "load securement" could mean a sudden exit during a panic stop...

We left yesterday @ 4:00. He drove about an hour, more or less just to talk since we had never met. The trip is a little over 2100 miles so I drove 10 hrs , he drove 10 etc.. My second leg included Lookout & 4th of July. Lookout was just after sunrise so a few wet spots but mostly clear. It was a fairly light load so made it up and down in 9th. With the jake I never touched the brakes. Sweet! He drove from Spokane in so he could show me where the drops are. This is his hometime. Tomorrow I'll deliver in Woodinville, Renton & Auburn. Then drop the empty in Fife and go off duty ( layover pay) until 20:00 Friday. Pickup the load, pickup Mike and head back to Illinois.

I did have trouble sleeping though. And driving solo is much less hectic. I haven't decided if I'll do it again next week.
