I spent several years delivering to Menards. Everything from bricks to lumber to bags of salt. I've pulled flats and dry van loads for them. Every load I've ever delivered there required chocking of the wheels with 4X4 blocks of lumber. Never had to disconnect a trailer, and certainly never had to hand over keys. After all, if your trailer is disconnected, there's no logical reason to need to hand over your keys.:roll2:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's been people from this board who have already met me. I'm sure they can vouch for me if they want to. Beyond that, it would appear that you are the one making lame internet threats here. If you have a personal problem with me, then I suggest you take it to PM, where I will simply ignore you. But stop crapping all over the board. It's unbecoming of you.

Dead wrong. With at 30/30 spring brake chamber, you have about the equivelant of 30 psi of brake apply pressure with the spring brake and it takes about 30 psi of supply pressure to overcome the force of the spring to release the brakes. Its not going to hurt a damn thing. Popping the valves is about the equivelant of a stop (panic stop, in my book) with 30 psi of apply pressure.

Also, I have NEVER seen a CAT wheel loader, short of a 992 or so, that would push a 78000 pound truck around. 30 feet? I'm calling BS.

Trucks with both brake valves set being pushed far enough from a loading dock to drop the dock plate with a forklift running in and out? Maybe on ice. Otherwise, I gotta call BS on that one too.

Some of us have been out here a bit too long to buy these trucker stories.

Now, to the OP, it looks to me like the brakes probably weren't set on either tractor or trailer. That truck is a hell of a long way away from that dock. I don't see how that could have happened with any resistance at all from the truck. (i.e. at least one axle worth of brakes set)

I have no Idea the series of loader...but it was big ,and slid that truck with ease trying to pack the last few bails...infact all I could think of was him pushng hay through the nose of the trailer ...I've had hay loads out of UTAH b4 ,and they had nothing like this loading the trucks justt 4wd case loaders that absoulutely struggled to pack the bails...not this thing howvever.

]every truck I ever drove had the parking brakes in one axle, not three, I defy you to show me a truck with a parking brake on the steer axle
]newer trucks automatically pop the trailer brake when you apply the tractor brakes is
because of people like you. maybe that's why you cant keep a job, with that attitude, you wont go far, I dont apply my trailer brake because the customer is an idiot and shouldnt move my truck.
what does it hurt to just put it on? I go one place where they take the red line off, put a lock on the glad hand AND take your keys.. so what? that's their policy, so I just do it.
