I had a class B long before I had a class A. And it was only by accident that I learned that I, too, must pass through all scales and inspection stations.
I was driving a 3/4 ton pickup and a trailer that was obviously for commercial use.

In some areas that watch for farmers and others who do not know to stop - or at least pass through.

No. Purely fabricated by the trucking industry. If there was really a shortage, wages and benefits would be much better.

So companies that have Mexican subsidiaries, like Schneider and CFI, can use Mexican drivers who are driving for .10 cpm. When the lobbying arm of the trucking industry, the ATA, is pushing hard for this, you know it's NOT in any American's best interests.

Greg

I wonder what Fred Thompson would say about Mexican truckers. Any ideas? Voted Republican almost all my life and I won't vote for the Dems. Might go fishin!

I'm not sure how to take this guy but if he was trained locally its possible. My cousin started on a dock 25 years ago and they taught him to drive a tractor trailer but he is a local city driver. All these years he's never seen a log book and never gone into a weigh station. Doesnt need to. Maybe this is one reason OTR companies dont count local driving as experience. He knows how to drive a truck but nothing of regs, logs, HOS, mapping, trip planning, etc.

you enter at 65 mph pull on the scale and slam on the brakes, this will allow the scale master to weigh your truck and determine if your load might shift. also be sure to keep your windows up and your radio on, if you dont, the scale master may talk to you over his magic box and maybe even want you to come inside which just wastes your valuable time. another good process is to find a truck with prepass and drive beside him in the left lane as you pass the scale, this will hide you from the scale master and save you even more time. hope this helps.. be safe and remember.. rubber side down..

Don't forget that if it is night time to put your lights on bright so the scalemaster can see you.

Now wait just a minute, you're leading this poor boy astray.

You didn't even bother to mention that he should give some long toots on the air horn to show that it works and to take off his seat belt so the weighmaster can see you better. Oh yeah, if you have any trash set it out as you enter the scale and they'll dispose of it for you, just another service that the DOT will perform for professional drivers.

Well now, boys, don't mislead him!
He wants to know what happens if he's pulled in.
First thing, you have drop your trousers, they'll want to know that you have both of your nuts. That is called a Level 3 inspection.
For a Level 1 you will have to bend over. :?

First of all, most of you are either as fukin stupid as everyone makes truckers seem..... or your just ignorant..... and that you can only blame mama for!!!

As I said before.... I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A LOCAL DRIVER.... that means NO LOGS (always within 150 miles), NO SCALES (non in the city...DUH)!!!!! I seriously don't understand what you can't understand about that??? But thanks for NOTHIN!!! I went through my first scale today, without ANY knowledge about what to do!!! This is a rare case too.... because everytime I've needed help or just some simple opinions, I could turn here to C.A.D. and get more help then I could imagine..... my questions/comments would be answered.... and I'd seem to learn somethin EVERYTIME I logged in! Thanks for fukin that all to hell!!! So go ahead and bash me.... call me fake, a cracker jack CDL holder, WHATEVER!!! But go get me a tractor and a 53 footer.... and I'll alley dock it down your ass crack and right in your fukin holes.....
