Default 1- or 2-man motel room...?

When you went to orientation with your company, were you given your own room 8) or put in a room with another driver  ?

What's the industry norm :? ?

At TMC usually 2 to a room unless you wish to pay an extra fee to get your OWN room. In des Moines, IA, The hotel is on the terminal's grounds

The industry norm is that drivers are doubled up unless they want their own room. At least in our case, if the driver gets his own room, he has to pay the hotel, half of what our corporate rate is, so it's pretty reasonable.

Everywhere I've been, it's been two to a room. Unless, like was said, you paid an extra fee for them to place an invisible roommate - or, like my case at Arrow where I was the only female at Orientation.

Hubby had a room to himself for orientation, but not everybody at TransAm gets one. The hotel they use has a LOT of single rooms though, so about half or so are put in singles.

That should only be for the schooling. Once you get to orientation, it generally goes down to two.

Transport America puts 2 per room, which stands along the freeway. About 3 miles away from training center.
