Well.... I'll probably get TOASTED for this, but......
Yes, that was a good poem. The sentiment is STRIKING! I just wish people felt the same way about GUN CONTROL! Look up the numbers sometime about how many INNOCENT people die because some idiot had a GUN..... and NOT the temperament to control its USE! And then, there's DWB! [Driving Without a Brain!] And Crotch Rockets!!! Not a day goes by that I don't see where some kid (20yr old give or take) who died or killed someone just BECAUSE that stupid "bike" could DO 120 mph!!! They've got NO business on the highways of America.... if the driver can't control himself and obey the laws!!!! Ask "Mom" how she feels about guns, crotchrockets and Drivers with no brains!! My bet is.... she'll feel just as devastated if it costs the life of her child!

Uhhh........Golf??? If I were you, I'd hold off on getting TOASTED untill you are safe at home, and your truck is safely parked and locked....Then, stay away from the truck until you are not TOASTED any longer!! I'm not a gun owner, but that has nothing to do with political views.

B: The best Gun control is hitting your intended target! And the rockets doing 120?? That rocket must have a lawn mower engine in it. last one my buddy had did 170+ right off the lot untouched... Now that I will agree is insane!

Useless: I AM safe at home! But, leaving out again for L.A. before daylight! For what it's worth.... I have a daughter somewhere, too! (Maybe, even grandkids!) I wouldn't want THEM to be killed by a DUI driver, either! I just don't happen to believe they are the ONLY threat on the road.... or in LIFE!

As for gun control, or jock rockets, those are important issues, but IMO, the abuse or irresponsible use by some is no reason to make them illegal.
I agree with what you said, somewhat. But, if society REALLY wanted to stop or cut down on DUI deaths, there would NOT be beer and liquor available to a customer in a drive thru window! Nendail said:
I have two things to say about gun control.
A: If you outlaw guns... The outlaws will still have them... Think. Your turn to "think!"

Hobo I don't want to "TOAST" you on your opinion, having the freedom to have your own thoughts and opinions makes this a GREAT country. However I have a different view of gun control. I think instead we should have criminal control. Not the broken prison system we have now. I grew up participating in and to this day still enjoy the shooting sports. And as you can tell by the picture under my handle I may have had to train on and train others in my previous careeron the proper use of firearms. And I have trained kids who had never even fired a BB gun to shoot and be safe with a weapon. Maybe that is the answer, instead of more laws we have more training. I also ride a motorcycle, not a crotchrocket, but am to scared to do the 120mph thing. And you are right I hate seeing other riders that pull wheelies on the open road. The loss of any life is a tragedy. I know by other threads you have posted your feels on gun control, and don't want this to turn into an argument session. Just wanted to express my opinion.

there's absoluteyl nothing wrong with selling liquor in a drive thru. Whether you drive thru and buy it, or go into the store and buy it, either way it's going to be in your vehicle with you as you drive away. So the manner in which you purchase it really is irrelevant.
Just because it's a drive thru doesn't mean the person is going to drink the alcohol as soon as they purchase it while driving. If a moron is going to drink and drive, they're gonna do it regardless of how they acquire the alcohol.

Nothing wrong with a drive thru , unless you open it. Years ago there were drive thru liquor stores.
Go figure guns would be brought up here. Already have 5 or more topics on them already. When I said Taxi, thats what I meant, get a taxi. I get sloshed once in a blue moon and this new years eve was a blue moon. We piled into a taxi to get there and back. My brother in-law at the age of 22 killed himself drinking and driving thank god no one else was killed. He was drunk off his butt, hit the gravel on the side of the road and tried to correct it and rolled 8 times before landing 10 feet up in a tree. We stress no drinking and driving with our kids and bring him up as an example as to why not to, and how he could have killed the person that was with him or anyone else on the road at the time. Let it be known if I see a drunk driver I will be calling 911 as I follow you, been there done that. I turn my flashers on to warn any other drivers that may be coming up behind me to let them know and it works. |
