Jake Brake in Scale house
You know I dont know the answer to this. When you go into a scale house should you leave Jake on or off?
I have always turned it off. Does it really matter?

I have always left it off, why would you want to stand out from the rest in a scalehouse unless you also have suicidal tendacies?

Just slows you down alittle when you take yer foot off the acellerator, I hardly ever use my brakes or clutch, when I come to a complete stop I brake and to start I release the clutch then when rollin i try not to use either, just been a bad habit I guess....

Unless the ramp to the scale house is a 13 percent grade and your grossed at 80,000 lbs.... why on earth would you have your jake on???
Some people it would seem are chemically dependant on the "Almighty" Jake Brake.

Jakes serve a good purpose, i'm the same way, i keep mine on even when i'm empty, but usually only on the interstate, all the time though when i'm loaded, i like it cause if traffic is just slowing down the jake does most of the braking work, therefore saving my brakes. Just my two cents, but i don't think leaving your jake on is a bad habit.
