The only time I use my jakes is when I am approaching the scale house a lil hot but always shut it down before entering the ramp. I even dim my headlights even during the day I believe in using my headlights all the time because I do drive a white truck and since I pull od loads quite often we are required to use the headlights at least here in Wisconsin so I just made it an every day practice. Hehe hard to break habits but id rather be safe than sorry.

I pretty much left my jakes on all the time... However, when it came to the scales, I'd turn the jakes off about the time that I hit the ramp to the scale entry, so as to not draw any more attention then what is necessary!

My jakes stay on all the time. Never turn them off except when I'm in line creeping towards the scale or in traffic. Never had a problem but maybe it's because of gti's grassburner exhaust.... They sure were fun in a dusty yard.

I hope you also lay on the train horns when you pass through, they love that.
Yeah and I often have to tell them to "Speak up" at the speaker because my radar detector is making too much noise.

Why leave the jake brakes on all the time? Brake lights are there for a reason.
