I would think it would make sense to go slower in a busy truckstop in case a person walked out from behind a truck or trailer you could stop in time. I've heard that people have been run over by guys flying through a T/S.

Common sense really isn't that common is it?

Not to get off topic, but would you get in trouble for cussing over the radio?

I know with the city, this one guy would occasionally make walrus sounds over the radio to pick on this other guy (who looked and sounded just like a walrus when he spoke.) He was the one "whose breath stunk worse than his farts".

 

:twisted: :evil: last night a truck in a hurry BUMPED my son out of his way. my son was walking from my truck to get a shower. he is not a trucker, so he is not as aware as i am. i know to watch out for you jerks. he was just knocked to the ground, and no injuries, but you asshole, and i know who you are. why didn't you stop to see if he was ok? could it be you didn't even see him? well i know your company and your tractor number and trailer number, so if you don't know what you did yet, when i see you next you will know, and you will get same courtesy as you gave my boy. antone speeding thru truckstops at night is gonna hear from me. i might have to change my handle from choperbob to 1 pissed of dad. by the way my son is just bruised and scraped up, but he is real afraid of walking at night in truckstops now. some go on a rant about piss bombs, but thanks to you all i am on the warpath with every driver i catch driving fast in t.s. i won't get the law involved but you might wish i did. anyone speeding there is fair game. if this pisses off some of you too f'n' bad, my son could of been killed. you asked what gets me riled, and now you know. i drive for transport america and my tractor is 100302 don't dare speed in the lots near it.

 

I have seen enuff videos at school to make me never even get close to the posted limit! They show students sum horrible crashes due to speed. Why even in a parking lot, one can turn over a trailer if steered too sharply and going too fast. I wood rather be a few minutes late and sure to at least make it without any cops or injurys.

 

I don't know what happened chopper and yes there are some idiotic steering wheel holders out there but it's unimagineable to me that even one of these would Intentionally hit your son and if they did do it accidentally I don't think even one of these people would drive off.
