Personally I don't tip shower attendants, for they are being paid an hourly wage whether it be minimum wage or above. However, if they are in a position where they exist on tips then I will tip IF the service warrants a tip. I don't hesitate to walk away without leaving a tip if I didn't receive good service. If those who are working for low wages have a problem with what they are being paid then they should either take it up with their employer or leave. After the employer has a vacancy and can't find someone willing to stay in the job for the peanuts they are paying then they will up the $$ amount they are paying. Unfortunately that is what has happened to many jobs, to many people are willing to work for the peanuts.

I was thinking this morning about this subject, and a question popped in my head:

How many of you who advocate tipping people just because they earn minimum wage, tip when you go to a fast food joint? I mean, why stop with showers and restaurants? Why not tip EVERY minimum wage person you come across? How do you pick and choose who is "worthy" of your tip?

Very few fast food workers are paid minimum wage any more.

I realize it won't be a common occurrence at any rate, but do companies allow drivers to opt at staying at a motel every once in a while or do they want us in the truck the entire time?
