congrats hobo, i'm glad she's gotten over that initial shock and seems to be accepting of the whole idea. i wish you all the luck with this, it's so nice to hear hope in your voice. i will still check in, i just have to work you in around big rig bounty hunters on history channel.

Oh yeah! 1000 text messages?? If you connect well with her....and the grandkids.....your gonna need Unlimited texting......Unlimited calling.......and Unlimited data (loosen the purse string tightwad).....and a SKYPE capable phone too!

You're right. I was just shocked because she hadn't BEEN answering, and then all of a sudden a big 180! She was really in shock because she never even knew about me. In the explanation she posted on her wall for her friends, she talked about how it was actually devastating news because the REAL shock, to her, was that the man she knew and loved as her father.... was not. It was probably only due to her maturity level that she was able to deal with the news.... AND then to decide there was no option but to find out where things would go with me.

According to that article, I might have even just been "lucky" to be one of the select few that they tested this on, which is amazing since I have barely used the service at all! From the info in the article, everything makes sense now. All my messages to others were going thru just fine, but... I believe the ones I sent to her WERE received, but immediately, and automatically, routed to her "OTHER" messages box. Once I paid the dollar, they must have been shifted to her inbox. If they had tested this last May, she might have gotten my FIRST message!

 

Yeah, all that is planned, in fact... I'm going out tomorrow to see about upgrading to a smartfone and/or a tablet with aircard. But, I was still on the road the other day when I realized I might be approaching the 300 text limit after which each text would cost 20 cents. That's $20 per hundred! I pay $5 for the 300. I just needed a quick fix to keep me from busting the bank before I could upgrade phone AND plan (to unlimited.) The lady was real nice. She actually cancelled the 300 plan for the current month (that I only had 100 left on,) and changed it to the 1000 text plan for $10. So.... I only paid $5 more for this month, and I should be okay even if I don't upgrade this week.
