i agree with TF here. i have a daughter and i hope i am teaching her to make good decisions in life. i don't understand why everyone was so upset when palin's daughter got pregnant. in truth, nobody would have cared if she wasn't running as VP. bristol would have just been another pregnant teen in alaska. it's a family matter, not a media matter.

i don't understand this whole 'hands off the obama family', while the media criticizes another. i recall our president taking exception to this when people started to say unkind things about his family. i don't think any family should be smeared in the name of an election, which is what happened. obama's girls will grow up to be teens and then we'll see what happens. teens have a mind of their own and know everything there is to know in life.

I read something the other day that said Obama is working to repeal the 22nd amendment to the constitution. This is the amendment that limits the president to serving a maximum of 2 terms. He hasn't been office but a few months and is working on his third term. I think many people are beginning to wake up to what Obama is planning. He is moving so fast to get his agenda through so that most of our fellow citizens and representatives don't know what has happened until it is too late. If this country survives his administration I think Sara Palin and her conservative views would be welcomed with open arms. She was attacked personally. I don't recall anything being mentioned in the media about her views or record. I think that if she had been with a conservative in the election, rather than McCain she might have been sitting in the white house instead of Obama and Biden. If the media and politicians would attack their opponents record rather than doing all the personal attacks things would likely have turned out differently.

Let's face it. One of the primary reason Obama was elected was due to race. Many whites voted for him because they didn't want to appear prejudiced. Blacks voted for him because he was black. Some voted for Obama because they still hate Bush and want to get back at him for winning 2 elections. None of these is a good idea when it comes to voting. We should be looking at their voting record and personal views. It is getting much more difficult to find anyone who admits voting for Obama. Even Colin Powell is distancing himself from Obama. It would be refreshing if we could simply vote for the person and their views. I think one of the reasons so many people fail to vote is due to being disenfranchised due to all the negative personal attacks. There was so much made of Sara Palin's wardrobe and how much she spent on clothes. I don't recall anything mentioned about any of the other candidates wardrobe. I think the left is terrified of Palin and her conservative views. She struck a cord with the American people and that scares liberals. I don't know if she will run for president but she can be a strong advocate for conservative views. People respond to her in a very positive way. She comes across as one of the average people. It is nice to see a woman who isn't afraid to get her hands a little dirty, go hunting, fishing and then fry it up for dinner. When I have seen her it seems to me as though she is just being herself. There are so many times when I see liberals that they seem to stage everything for the camera's. If this country can survive Obama we are likely to see a new wave of conservatism ushered in. Notice I didn't say republican? There are many republicans who are not conservatives.

This garbage makes the rounds every Presidential term. Obama is not working to repeal the 22nd Amendment. First of all, it would be Congress that would be doing it, and secondly, it would require a 2/3 majority passage in both the House and the Senate, and then 3/4 of the States would have to ratify it, which would never happen. Every Congress all the way back to the Carter years has introduced a bill to repeal the 22nd Amendment, and none of them go anywhere at all, and rightfully so.

I think the left is terrified of Palin and her conservative views.
No offense, but her views aren't all that conservative.

Am I the only person here that thinks your political/social opinions are downright scary?

Her's an interesting Palin story; Todd S. Purdum on Sarah Palin | vanityfair.com

It was written before her resignation, which Willie Brown (Say what you want, the guy is as honest about politics as anybody that has ever been involved) says is a stroke of political genius on her part.

I think the left is terrified of Palin and her conservative views.
There is so much more I would like to attack in your post, GMAN.... but, I'll settle for this for now as I'm short of time.

This has been the "conservative" rally cry for FAR too long! Let me set you and the record straight.

There is not a SINGLE Democrat or Liberal or Republican who changed sides or independent that is afraid of Sarah Palin.... for ANY reason!

The truth is.... we don't like her because she is ignorant concerning world politics, can't speak clearly and intelligently, and just doesn't have what it takes to be "next in line" to the highest office in the country.... or the leader of the free world!

It might surprise you to know that we LIKE her "folksy" ways. We LIKE that she hunts and fishes. It's just that.... unlike the starry eyed Conservatives who have nothing left to believe in.... we don't find these qualities to be enough to be our "leader."

I think that, with a little help and study, she would make a GOOD Congresswoman or Senator! But, she is NOT presidential material... period!

Some of you think that because she is "one of you" that she would be better than the polished politicians who often get elected. In today's world, that is just not practical. Some compare HER lack of experience to Obama's limited experience in the state and national legislature.... but, you fail to notice his legal education and his elevated position on the Law Review.

The last American President that was "just one of you/us" was probably Carter... and you guys HATED him! Even CLINTON was a RHODES scholar and finished his term (or two... I forget) as Governor of Arkansas!

Although I don't consider myself a Liberal, I am sick and tired of the "slamming" of Liberals by the conservative mouthpieces! It is a FACT that the education level of Liberals (and Democrats probably) exceeds that of the conservative population! Given that, it is not surprising that conservatives are enamored by this "common" woman who left her town of Wassilla IN DEBT, and has now left her state without her leadership as Governor.

If you all think she is the greatest thing since sliced bread, that only shows the limits of your expectations! But don't, for ONE minute, think that "WE" are in ANY way afraid of her! She ruined McCain's chances at the presidency... when he HAD a good chance because HE is a moderate!

She is NOT qualified.... plain and simple! The "media" didn't trash her... they "exposed" her! The ONLY minds they changed, were some of the independents and/or Republicans. No self-respecting Democrat/Liberal was buying her SCHTIK in the first place!

Personally..... I LIKE her! I LIKE her moxy. I LIKE her values. And I would like them regardless of her LOOKS! What I don't like is her LACK of understanding and experience of National and World politics. I.... and many LIKE me.... am not impressed by her folksy ways and looks. That is just NOT enough to make her qualified to lead my nation!

If you can find something about her OTHER than her "folksy" conservative values to believe in.... please TALK about them. I will be listening. But take off your ROSEY colored glasses and get REAL.

And "stuff" that rhetoric about us being AFRAID of her! I said it back then, and I maintain, that SHE was the best thing that happened to the Democratic ticket in this last election, and IF she manages to become your front runner in the next.... we'll win that one, too!

I would take PALIN over ANY DEMOCRAP OUT THERE. Compared to OBAMA without HIS TELEPROMPTER she is a speaker in the ROLLS ROYCE CLASS and Obama is a 1 CYL John Deere with A MISS. Palin took on her OWN Party in Alaska to return MORE of the money from teh OIL revenue to the PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA neogsiated the LARGEST Natural Gas deal in the History of America with Canada that is worth close to 1 TRILLION BUCKS. She also secured the Alasaka Fishing Grounds from the Russians Japansese and Korean fleets for another 30 years yet SHE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT INTERNATIONAL POLITICS. Yet all we hear from Obama is I am SO SORRY TO DESPOT NATIONS HE CAN NOT EVEN GIVE THE RIGHT DVD's to the PM of our CLOSEST ALLY in Great Britain yet you LIBERALS THINK HE WALKS ON WATER. He is so full of CRAP and HAS BEEN SINCE HE WAS ELECTED TO THE ILLINOIS STATE SENATE THAT WE ARE STILL TRYING TO CLEAR THE CRAPPER OUT IN SPRINGFIELD.

What with everything that's been said and written about Palin since she announced she was quitting, Peggy Noonan's Wall Street Journal article stands out. Noonan's conservative, doesn't care for Palin, isn't fooled by her and nailed it, IMO. http://online.wsj.com/article/declarations.html

LightsChromeHorsepower: thanks for the VF link! Been meaning to read Purdin's article. Those who called Palin 'narcissistic' tie in nicely with Noonan's take on the babe. Personally, I never could stand cheerleader types. A priss-butt for POTUS? I don't think so.

Then there's this, just for laughs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IzNPEGWNos
