Examples of her voice of reason and personal responsibility please.

I have heard her speak about smaller goverment and taking personal responsibility. She recently spoke about helping others to get elected who share her personal views. She is willing to take a back seat to being the one running for office. Rather than aborting her downs son, she kept him and is raising him in an apparently loving family atmosphere. Her daughter got into trouble and rather than throwing her out she embraced her and is supporting her and her grandchild. She has been the target of the radical left since she decided to run for national office. Over all I think she has done a good job. I like the fact that she may not be as polished in some of her statements and that she is not afraid to speak her mind. She doesn't come across as being at all pretentious. I don't think she takes herself too seriously. Most of the politicians we see are really caught up in themselves. She seems to genuinely care about others and this country. She is the type of woman who helped build this country. She hunts, fishes and runs her home. She is not a career politician or attorney. She knows how to run a business and what it means to a business owner when the government gets into business. She seems to just be herself. She is not afraid to work hard and get her hands dirty. She is the type of woman the early feminists say they want to become. In reality, the qualities that make her appealing to many of us are the very qualities that make her a target for those who don't want people to be self sufficient or self reliant. She demonstrates by example that people can do for themselves and come from a small town to running for Vice President. I think she is the main reason McCain did as well as he did. That is the only reason McCain got my vote. She gives people hope that they can do for themselves and make a difference. That is what she seems to want to do. If you believe in big government and high taxes then she is not someone whom you will like. She thinks that people should be responsible for themselves. It isn't up to the government to meet all of our needs. She understands that bigger government means higher taxes and less freedom.

Well, that about sums things up nicely, G-Man. I couldn’t have said it better.
Of course, you’ll get a point-by-point narrative now from the lefties, tearing down every point you made. That’s one of the reasons I mostly avoid politics these days. I am a conservative, a Christian, believe in conservative values, and hold fast to high morals and attempt to teach my children the same. That said, though, I believe everyone has the right to believe what they will, be it a liberal and conservative agenda, republican or democrat or whatever. Unfortunately, too many people today are either left wing liberal nutjobs or right wing zealots, and the lines have been drawn so deep in the sand, they will never be erased. Today, it’s either “believe as I believe or you’re wrong and because you’re wrong, I am going to hate you and I might just have to kill you too!” So, who the hell made everyone judge, jury, and ideals executioner of everyone that believes differently? When did personal freedoms to believe as one wishes, vanish in this country? issedoff:My wife sometimes wonders why people in general disgust me. It doesn’t take much anymore to illustrate it. At the risk of injecting a religious tone to the discussion, I have to say that it makes me glad that I am a Christian and I do believe what I believe. Eventually, it’s not going to matter. I know how it ends. And that, too, should bring out the pack.

Sarah Palin is a witless nutjob and is the last person I would want being Head of State and president of my country.
uke:btw, I am neither right, left, republican, or democrat and use common sense, practicality, and the welfare of my fellow man as the foundation for my voting decisions.

I don't think ANYONE kows how this World will end. By definition.... you BELIEVE how it will end.... by FAITH... in the unseen, foretelling the UNKNOWN. That comforts you. And you NEED comfort. Nevertheless, I applaud the principles of a "Christian life" and see the benefits of it. I also RESPECT your brave committment to and testimony of it. If I am true to MY beliefs, you will get no condemnation or prejudice from ME concerning it. OUR Constitution guarantees us both the freedom OF religious beliefs... AND the freedom FROM religious control. That is all I ask. Believe as you choose.... but, make NO LAWS that encumber MY freedoms, based on YOUR beliefs. And do not think that "I" have no religious beliefs. I just choose to interpret the Constitution as the protection it was MEANT to be against the intrusion of the Church of England (or any subsequent religious authority) into and over MY LIFE. THAT is the Constitution I swore to protect when I enlisted in the military. THAT is the antithesis of the "fundamenalists" that our soldiers are dying in conflict with. And THAT is the "spirit" of America that I will again risk my life to defend.... against all enemies foreign OR DOMESTIC.... if it comes down to it.

I have no problem with your ethical position, TF... in fact, i admire it. Too bad that Palin didn't "teach her chld" (Bristol) as well as you might teach YOURS.
I "believe" it was about the time George "Dubya" Bush stole the 2000 election, (snip)

I won’t delve any deeper into this part of the discussion. The discussion is about Palin, although it is admittedly hard to keep it right on that topic, since I believe so much of the final days hinges on what’s happening right now in this country and in the world. Still, I agree with G-Man on his points about Palin. I think that should she be gearing up for a presidential run in 3 ½ years, she would annihilate Obama, if we ever even see another presidential election. Obama, in just 6 short months, has already lost the independents and left-leaning republicans that got him over the hump and even ACORN wouldn’t be able to save his bacon in the next election. His socialistic ruining of this country has even some of his most ardent supporters beginning to ask questions. What he will likely do in the next 3 ½ years is nothing short of mind-boggling and the rising chorus of “told you so” is beginning to reach high decibel levels. But of course, 3 ½ years is also a lot of time for the ‘savior’ to get himself entrenched as a permanent president. At this point, I don’t see us ever getting rid of him now, but that goes right back into believing that he will be the instrument of this country’s demise, which is again linked to believing/knowing what is destined or prophesied to happen.
