Stern fans have to be the biggest tools. No one is doing prank calls anymore. Why did Crank Yankers all the sudden disappear when ratings are huge? Prank calling people or businesses is harassment and you can be arrested for it and it doesn't matter what your states wiretap laws are but the party's need to be aware that it will be broadcast as copyrighted content. If it's not going to be played on a copyrighted broadcast then you probably not need consent. So there are 2 reasons why you can't do prank calls. But Stern still does them? He does them because they are fake.

New York state law defines harassment: (Stern broadcasts is produced in NY)
§ 42.07. Harassment. Amended 2002.

(a) A person commits an offense if, with intent to harass, annoy, alarm, abuse, torment, or embarrass another, he:

(1) initiates communication by telephone, in writing, or by electronic communication and in the course of the communication makes a comment, request, suggestion, or proposal that is obscene;

(2) threatens, by telephone, in writing, or by electronic communication, in a manner reasonably likely to alarm the person receiving the threat, to inflict bodily injury on the person or to commit a felony against the person, a member of his family or household, or his property;

(3) conveys, in a manner reasonably likely to alarm the person receiving the report, a false report, which is known by the conveyor to be false, that another person has suffered death or serious bodily injury;

On October 25, 2007 it was revealed that Opie and Anthony's weekly satellite audience was 216,800 - well behind the numbers alleged by their former rival, Howard Stern. Opie and Anthony contest the numbers and say they make more for XM than Howard does for Sirius. XM Executive Vice President of Programming Eric Logan also stated that the 216,800 number was partially taken when O&A was suspended from the XM airwaves in April-May 2007 and estimated their weekly numbers as actually being in excess of a million.[15] The fall 2007 ratings, taken while Opie and Anthony were not suspended actually showed a drop in audience from the spring 2007 ratings to 171,300.

C'mon Ben, I thought that Mariettans had better taste! :wink:

I guess if you like fake radio show's? Howard has been known for years to have fake callers. There are company's you can hire to that will provide scripted callers for a radio show. I do think it's laughable that people think everything he does is real.

That's the difference between O&A and Howard, O&A doesn't hide things from their listeners and they do a real show. If a person wants to get on air with O&A they can. On Sterns show, not a chance. He only will take calls that have been screened or people the staff knows. O&A let Stern fans on the air all the time, not sure if many O&A fans have been on air with Howard cause i don't listen to his show.

I do agree though in the end it's entertainment and Stern has been in the business a lot longer than O&A.

You might want to check out Phil Hendrie? He does an entertaining show!

I thought Hendrie retired. He was one of my favorites and after a while you can get to know his "characters".

Norm was funny on Howards show, but he was on the comedy channel later and they played one of his stand up bits and it sucked big time..
