Seeing the images on television, it made me wonder who the driver of the big rig was that the cab caught fire, it was right next to that school bus that all those kids managed to escape from, and were saved.
Sometimes it makes you wonder if when these tragedies happen that big rigs are involved in, if the person who drove the truck could have been someone who was a member of this site...
One day they are here posting messages, the next you just don't hear from them again...
The bridge collapse in this case is very tragic, and like they stated, no bridge in this country should collapse like this one did, hope they find out what happened.
I know of two bridges that have been put out of commission in my region, and they built temporary bridges beside them... Don't know how long a temporary bridge is supposed to last. But, I guess one day we will find out, hopefully it won't be the same way these people did, by collapse.

Back when I lived in WI, I was crossing that bridge a couple of times a month. No idea how many times I've crossed it.
I understand that the State of MN was warned a few years ago, that the structure was in trouble. Nothing was done about it. The reprecussions will go on for longer than it takes to replace it.
Wonder how many people will have "BRIDGE-PHOBIA" now.....

Lots-it's already started
I've driven over the 35w bridge more times than I can count but I never really like the bridge between Hudson and St. Paul

Well, it finally happened. I wondered how long it would take. I was listening to the news this evening and one guy stated that the reason the bridge collapsed was big trucks. He seemed to especially like the heavier trucks and doubles. It couldn't possibly have to poor construction or inferior building materials.

How did he suggest that the big trucks cross the river? By raft?
