oh slim I am sorry, I understand pain like that I really do. Pain can feel like a wall all around you and you can't see your way out. I hate constant pain, did you try anything or are you trying to be manly and just deal.

remember RICE

Rest
Ice
Compress
Elevate

helps with most injuries. My sister the 21year old, fell Dec 20, bruised her leg, not biggie Right? Well since then is has continue to swell she has since stopped walking altogether. She has been in the hospital but they just flew her to Uof W last night. Now they are saying either a massive infection or a fast growing tumor. Will know today. sorry to go of topic.

i find when I can barely tolerate the pain music soothes me. But when it is more tolerable but I am suffering spiritually I read. Have you read " The Hiding Place" " Pilgrim's Progress" I could name quite a few, but these two I could read and reread.

'The Hiding Place" by Corrie Tenboom is set in WWII, it is a true account about of a Christian family during that time. Good Read. The Pilgrims Progress was written in 1636 I believe and is still so relevant to day it is amazing. Written by John Bunyan, not Paul Bunyan John. It is written in the old King Jimmy but you can get a more recent style english version. I have one for kids. It is a classic.

You are a sweet heart, I have never heard RICE befor.. I had put some therogesic wich is a heat rub, and it seemed to help a little. But of course that didn't last long..
I feel like I am falling apart, I hurt all over and I havn't even been through surgery yet..
My sciatic nerve is acting up again, my rib, my hernia, and I just finnished putting new strings on my guitar and my oldest daughter's. Now my upper back hurts.. Ahhhhggg.

Tomorrow will be better, but I have to go get all my blood work taken care of.. Ya know sometimes I think and know these pain killers cause me more pain after a while..
I can't wait to be rid of pain, or have it lessend so my depedency on these things can be lessend or gone for good.
I have gone without them, and for the mind I pretty much stay in a good mood, clear mind. But the pain gets to me, and depresses me.. Then when I am on them I get moody, happy, sad. The doc says to take them as I am supposed to. So the withdrawl of the one befor doesn't alter my mood.. But I am sick of them. Ill take one, and try to go the rest of the day without takin anymore, just so I can be in a descent mood, but the pain is persestant..
Befor the mesh came loose, I was doing ok, without them. still had bad pain, but I was able to manage it with tylonal, advil, and asprin. and playing the guitar.
But the good thing is, I finaly got off the big stuff, I was on Oxycotin with Tylonal aka Percocet 10. with Fetnol patch, 30 mg of extended morphin. I was flying.
I had to change pain docs to do it, but this one put me on percocet 10, then got me down to Norco's, wich is the same thing as vicodin and loratab. just less tylonal.. So now I am on little pain killers, and soon I will be on none. yeah!!

How did your sister get a possible tumor, or infection from a bruise? being that it is inside the body and not open to the air?

the answer to you question about my sister, I can't really explain. She fell badly banged up her leg, had it xrayed, said must me soft tissue injury and stay off it. weeks later she is not moving, she is a college student and winter quarter just started, she literally couldn't go, and finally 3 weeks later they did an MRI which showed a mass. Possible blood clot, or not.

The infection would come from a mass of pooling blood in an area, a week immune system. I don't know really only that she is a small girl and her leg is swelling up to her thigh. Clearly the fluid is blocked in someway.

Anywho, if it is just a clot surgery tomorrow remove clean up and home in a week. If tumor and it is cancer ,,,,, well we will know tomorrow.

I didn't even think about a mass of blood and a week immune system. I can be so dumb sometimes.. Since this didn't show up untill she had hurt her leg I am sure it is just blood clots. But we will pray for her..

Just thought I'd let you know that it has been determined to be infection, not sure the cause. Now: tests, drain tubes, and recovery.
Strangley this is good news.
Thanks Slim,

That is good news. THat is a whole lot easier to take care of,, than a tumor.
